See... now that's enough for me to not go there. Thanks for the info. I work downtown, so I can easily take a late lunch and hit Frenchy's by U of H at 2:30 to avoid a crowd.
I have been to Frenchy's by UH and it is not all that great. Man there is a Timmy Chans right by my office. Is it really hat good. i am afraid of trying it because I will love it too much.
This franchise isn't in Houston yet, mostly in the East/Southeast, but my favorite fast food fried chicken is BOJANGLES!
New Caporal Fried Chicken on Broadway and 157th Street in Sugar Hill/Washington Heights, NY http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/10great/2003-09-30-fried-chicken_x.htm
Okay, so I GOT to try Frenchy's. How I went to UH for four years without ever making it to this place is bizarre. This thread reminded me of Hakeem's book when he talks about playing at Fonde every day and then all the ballplayers would literally race over to Frenchy's and Moses Malone won every single time. Then he bought everybody chicken and they sat around eating, talking about which clubs they were going to go to. I MUST have Frenchy's. Scott Street is the place to go, eh?
I love Popeyes, but honestly haven't been in years...I usually get KFC and split between extra crispy and original recipe, which rocks the next morning for breakfast, cold that is...mmm...
i chose Popeyes...but i heard frenchys is awesome just a little expensive though...but im not sure about prices..
frenchys is cheaper then popeyes. the July 4th campus special was 3 pieces a biscuit fries pepper and something else for $1.99.
Gus's fried chicken in Memphis is the best I ever had. Once you have chicken there you can't even eat at the fast food places.
So, tonight. I cooked my homemade fried chicken. double dipped in egg/milk and a mixture of flour, garlic salt, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and seasoned salt. I cooked it. It came out golden brown, crispy, and deeeelicious.... ... and my 7-year-old daughter peeled off all of the crust and just ate the chicken meat.
If only because you can get it at one in the morning, with a side of gumbo or jumbalaya, in the middle of Tropical Storm Allison.
Its 2:26 and I am craving Fried Chicken so much now... BTW I couldn't resist. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rGrqW3nx5HM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rGrqW3nx5HM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
