First, i think this relates mostly to t-shirts. you may be able to get away with a wife beater as the collar isn't noticeable, unless you're trying to flash people. If it's thin then it may be completely invisible unless someone is looking at you too much. When i mentioned this earlier i reasoned the outline of an undershirt is the reason why it's not "fashionable" to wear it anymore, especially nowadays that fitted shirts are in, since they'll show it more. I've also seen guys wearing nice ironed dress shirts, but have their undershirt collar showing and it's wrinkled or stretched...or wearing a nice white dress shirt and a white t underneath that's no longer truely white.
Went to Men's Warehouse Everything they had was thin - even their two-ply Oxford cloth shirt. You LIED to me, Ronny! Liar!
I tried repping for this well thought-out answer, but have to spread it around... I wear dress shirts to work every day, and I wear a beater underneath it almost all the time. I do understand the fitted shirt thing, because the reason you're wearing a fitted is to hug the body, not hug a body that's covered by another layer of clothing. I just find it comfortable to have the beater on underneath for whatever reason, and even if it's not fashionable I will continue to do so.
you must be looking for the real thick shirts that were used before all the fitted shirts became popular....older businessmen types still wear alot of those...you need to go somewhere like macys.
i dont know what to tell ya then...they have just about every style out there. Maybe you need thinner undershirts
One thing I would say is although slim fit should be snugger on the body, if you get too tight it will look homo. Also, it's definetley not professional to wear shirts that hug the body too much. Beaters are really thin and shouldn't be noticeable as long as your shirt isn't cutting off your blood flow. This is the fitted shirt I'm wearing right now by Tommy Hilfiger: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=467712&CategoryID=42187 Fitted enough to look good but still professional to wear to work. I also like it because the collar is spread so you can wear thicker knotted ties if you like that style.
how can undershirt go out of style...you cant even see them. (note V-neck undershirts are the way to go so you dont see them. Note B: Vnecks are not ok to wear as a normal tshirt...what an unfortunate trend) I think they are lying to you. Any girl that this topic has come up with have made fun of guys for shaving their legs.
Your fashion sense is a bit lacking. A wife b is allowed. The undershirt under a dress shirt is lame. Might as well throw on a silver necklace and call it a day. Vnecks are perfectly ok to wear. Urban Outfitters has good ones for cheap. It's freakin 100 degrees outside.
