Indeed. Considering off-the-rack Charvet shirts are $400, and the made-to-measure are considerably more expensive (and require a visit to Paris to get the measurements done), chances are he'll go in a different direction.
for the price conscious...just go to club monaco. they have xs to xl and the dress shirts fit perfectly slim.
You mean once he gets to Place Vendome he'll change his mind and walk across the street to Kiton or Canali?
This would be tragic, but quite possible. A full-on bespoke shirt is not in the cards for this young man, but perhaps a demi? Nicely done by the way--Rep given.
I wear dress shirts on a daily basis almost. At the moment I need a good number of well fitted shirts over four or five $400 shirts. I own a couple of Brioni's and don't feel as smug as I should wearing them... yet.
Me too. I have to wear a suit to work every day. Hugo Boss has been my brand of choice for shirts for a couple of years now. I have several Zegna and Armani shirts but I have to say the fit is not nearly as good. I think a slim-fit Boss shirt might be what you're looking for and in your price-range. Don't worry you'll feel smug in no time.
Saigon Tailor advertises custom shirts, as well as Hoang Tailors Here's a yelp for Saigon http://www.yelp.com/biz/saigon-tailors-houston Banana Republic sells a "slim-fit" or "tailored-fit " line. That is...they taper the shirt with seams on the side. You don't want the "classic fit" which is kind of boxy. You can also check the Monogram line. http://www.bananarepublic.com
I agree with the guy that suggested Hugo Boss. Their clothes always have nice fit to them. I personally like the way 4you shirts fit me. If you want to go cheaper then go to Zara. However their quality is hit or miss at times.
I'm surpised that I don't see a Jugdish douchebag comment. I think there was a thread on this a couple of months ago. I got some made for $10-$20 overseas. Used a hugo boss shirt for reference.
if you're price-conscious, get a Banana shirt, and then get it altered. that's what i used to do. problem solved.
Okay, so I dug up this thread because I need to buy a dress shirt today for a suit. ... ...and every shirt that I'm seeing EVERYWHERE is so thin, my undershirt just shows directly through it. WTF?!?! Is this a trend? Do people not care that their shirts are transparent and the undershirt is clearly visible? Is there some other solution to this that I am not aware of? I'm now looking for a shirt that is $50 or less that is NOT so thin that the undershirt can be seen through it. Suggestions?
If that's the case, my dark skin an nipples are clearly visible through the way-too-thin shirts! Again, I say, WTF?!?!?
