Best first steps, crossovers in NBA history

    We'll have two separate categories even though they can reside in one player.
    Check that ...There are guys that though they are far from ultra quick, are incredibly adept at keeping defenders off balance, so don't forget about them.

    I was watching the 92 all star game on nba tv before the game this year. hardaway could come down full speed and cross over

    but could he do it at AI's speed?

    I once saw AI crossover a double team, once (2 guys right in front of him both went for the fake), lol!

    ya so could alot of other guys...hardaway was special because he was the father of the crossover generation (franics iverson marbury davis williams etc.)

    sad to see that that crossover generation is done...

    Actually, what made Tim bug's crossover that much more impressive was that he didn't palm/carry the ball when he did his crossover. His style was "old school" and by the books at full speeds vs. the new generation crossover ala Kobe/AI, where they would have a slight pause/hesitation while carrying the ball to get defenders off balance.

    ^don't think they mean off-balance jumpers, but taking advantage of off-balance defenders and blowing by them, which isn't exactly Dirk's forte.

    Considering both categories, even if we're talking about past and present...BRIAN COOK, nothing he can't do with or without a basketball. He could never be invited to All Star weekend because just a weekend wouldn't be enough to show his awesomeness
