The Rockets-Knicks series is the best ever for me. And there was the OJ chase to add sauce to it.

Bulls/Suns 1993 comes to mind..not saying it was the best ever, though.

Nobody outside of Houston/NY paid much attention to it because MJ was out. The world is watching this Miami/Dallas series. Ratings are sky high.

This is not the best Finals series ever.

    Best: 1994
    2nd: 1995

This is definitely the best in a long time, though.

Eh, they have been okay. Good finishes for sure. But, something lacks. Maybe i was expecting Lebron and Wade domination. Its more team ball really and that gets old, i want to see great finals performances that will go down in the history books. This lacks that.

...plus the thought of the Mavericks winning a trophy makes me want to vomit.

    You're crazy. Should be:

    Best: 1995
    2nd: 1994

    Not sure after that.

The first is always the sweetest dude.
I don't care about "more exciting" series... the first championship set us up for the second one.

Your saying it's not interesting when there is teamwork? The showtime lakers with magic were alot more about team than you realize. Some of the greatest legends ever were part of a team and couldn't have done it alone. Your watching Dirk immortalize himself if he wins, and were watching history being made as Lebron, debatably the best player in the league, chokes on the biggest stage. You don't realize now, but your watching history unfold.

I think, besides the obvious 94 and 95 Finals, the 84 Celtics/Lakers series was the best ever. I don't think we'll ever see another Finals with 7 HOF'ers in their prime on the court at the same time.

This year's is certainly the best I've seen in about the last 16 years or so. No doubt.

Nothing wrong with team game, but it's just so much more fun to see Jordanesque Performances on the big stage. Wade has been the only one to do it back in '06. Well, Shaq did too.

Theres no history being made for me. No matter how many rings James and Wade go on to win, i would have never put James on Jordan level. His basketball story will have been ruined for good, already 0-1 in the Finals. Then to ditch your team and form the superfriends to make it easier, and go 0-2 in the finals with this crap performance? He's done, his legacy will be kobe level. Not Jordan...or even Magic, Bird level. Even if they come back and win, his finals numbers are awful, so bye bye to reaching GOAT status.

As far as history with Dallas. This will make them worse fans. This is their history, this is where they will say "we swept the former champs and then beat the superfriends! Our lone championship is better than both of yours! This team would have beat both of those Rockets teams! Dirk is better than Hakeem"

This is why i don't understand how Rockets fans can root for them. You're all going to regret it.

Were you an NBA fan in 94?

    Ever heard of OJ Simpson?

I agree with '84, '94 and '95 for nostalgic reasons, and this year being up there. This year could eclipse them if it continues the way of the last few games through 7

As for your statement...it's funny how accomplishments get exaggerated over time--sorry, but I feel like I need to correct it. It was an incredible performance and all.. but it was a badly sprained ankle (not a broken one--big difference), it was 25 points in a quarter (not 25 straight), and only something like 1/2 of the points were scored after the injury. Incredible, gutsy, amazing, and I love seeing those highlights.. but not quite as written above

I would accept that, too. The second did have some great moments, with the missed free throws, Kenny's threes, Hakeem's tip, Hakeem's three to cap it, and of course Rudy's "heart of a champion" line.

this happens a lot here on clutchfans where people 'pretend' to know or experience the nba when they didn't.

look I never saw Wilt play, so I don't comment too much on him. I'll just take the word of someone who has seen him play.

what kind of person talks about an NBA finals that they never saw and dismiss it?

actually there were alot of people watching the finals because the NBA in the 90s was so popular and the Knicks ( New York is the biggest tv market) were in it.

Right, just like so many people thinking MJ was God. Half of the posters here weren't even alive during MJ's prime.
