I saw via IMDB that he has been producing, but I always liked him and most of the stuff he was creatively involved with.
"Two seemingly dumb teens struggle to prepare a historical presentation with the help of a time machine" is about Music? Spoiler FAIL.
what? havent you seen the movie? Rufus (george carlin) gets sent back in time to prevent the WYLD STALLYNS from breaking up why? because the music of the WYLD STALLYNS bring order and peace to the world WYLD STALLYNS is quite frankly the most historic and important musical group ever.
i would not count Amadeus, The Wall or Rocky Horror in a fictional music discussion... I'm on the Almost Famous bandwagon...
I'm disappointed in you guys... I'm also looking forward to Taking Woodstock, which comes out this Friday. Ang-Lee directed movie about how Woodstock came to be.
GREAT movie. Up In Smoke - It's about a battle of the bands, right? Fear Of a Black Hat - Rap mockumentary. Rockets are mentioned in it too!
A few others good ones...mainly music "biographies". Walk the Line Once Ray Coal Miner's Daughter (Loretta Lynne) I'm Not There (Dylan) Control (Ian Curtis/Joy Division) 8 Mile Nashville A Prairie Home Companion
I watched that enough when I was in middle school that I still remember how that "I am spartacus" piece at the end goes. It also introduced me to the future hotnessess of Liv and Charlize, who were looking plenty sexy, unlike Home Alone 3 that had a jailbait Scarlett. The vocals for That Thing You Do is from Mike Viola of the Candy Butchers. Good movie.
