2) Taco Bell 5) Whataburger ************** 7) Fuddruckers *************** 8) Taco Cabana Fuddruckers is not fast food, but I can't stand Taco Cabana so i had to vote for it. As for Whataburger, there is nothing better than a Whataburger on texas toast with jalapenos. Oh, and Fatty....this past weekend I woke up one morning and tried your suggestion on the Taquito w/ jalapenos, sausage, cheese, and potatos. Really good stuff...although I think i'll go without the potatos next time.
My votes: 2) Taco Bell better variety (not Mexican though) 8) Taco Cabana (not Mexican either, but closer, and decent... come on, let's knock Fudd's out of this tournament! Even if we can't prove it's not fast food, we all know it deep in our hearts ) and, for whoever on the other thread said that if you could get a meal quickly under $10, it's "fast food"... For some of our budgets, there's a lot of difference between: not feeling like cooking at home and getting a $5 meal (not much cost difference), and wanting to go out and get something really good and getting a $10 meal (better quality, but also more cost difference and we shouldn't be doing it every meal).
I am a big hamburger guy (disappointed that Steak N Shake wasn't in this thing), so I am going to vote: Whataburger Fuddruckers
5) Whataburger 7) Fuddruckers When I lived in NY, I really missed Whataburger. I love it. Now that I am in Cali we have Fatburger, and In and Out so that fills the void a lot. But when I go back to Texas I always eat it at least once. In truth I think Fatburger has the best tasting burgers, though some don't like their seasoning. Fatburger definitely has the best chocolate shakes I've ever had. But for sentemental reasons, Whataburger will always be a favorite.
Hey FB, Before I die, I will eat at an In and Out! Since you have eaten at both In and Out and Whataburger, which one do you think is better (and this goes for anyone else who has eaten at both places)?
5) Whataburger VS. 7) Fuddruckers I was going to ask this earlier, but I didnt think thye would make it this far. But is Fuddruckers really considered Fast Food??? If it doesnt have a drive thru or delivery it shouldnt be considered IMO.
That's surprising. I've always loved how they put hash browns in the taquito. I guess it's a hash brown thing for me.
In and Out is terrific. The fries are the best anywhere. The prices are cheap too. I hate to cop out but I think the burgers are probably tied. Make sure and tell them what you want on an in-and-out burger unless you want thousand island dressing on it. You can even use secret codes to order like saying you want your burger animal style. The in-and-out burgers are a little smaller, but they are really tasty and never frozen. It's all fresh. The fries need salt added, but are also fresh. You can actually see them put the whole potato through the fry cutter. But you will be happy once you try in-and-out. After I ate my first in-and-out burger I never understood how McDonalds stayed in business here.
5) Whataburger 7) Fuddruckers Taco Cabana is pretty good but Fuddruckers is on another level...because its not fast food
I've been to a location of nearly every big fast food restaurant that didn't have a drive-thru. Does that make them not fast food? If you don't have a server and you wait less than 10 minutes for food, it's fast food. Whataburger Taco Cabana
What about some of the "counter service" restaurants such as EZ's (might not be one in Houston) or the (Houston) Goode Company Burgers & Taqueria? Those don't seem like fast food... maybe, if the food is served on "real" plates instead of in a wrapper or a basket, it's not fast food?
I think if you can consistently get your food in less than 10 minutes, it has to be fast food. Hence the word fast. Isabel, I would consider EZs, as well as places like Cafe Express fast food. It's just not your typical fast food place. It's still a fast food restaurant. BTW, for those of you who say Fuddruckers can't be fast food because of the lack of drive-thru, there's a Los Cucos in Conroe that has a drive-thru. Does that make it a fast food restaurant? I also should amend my previous statement about having servers precluding a place from being a fast food restaurant. Steak and Shakes have servers and it's definitely a fast food place (even though it's closer to Fuddruckers than McDonalds). It doesn't have a drive-thru either. The only thing that should matter is time and price.
