The subway in my local town doesn't have a drive thru, and neither of the two Schlotsky's did before they closed down. The Subway is pretty old, though... ...and if we're going to nitpick, fast food places in the mall don't have drive thrus.
you're right, forgot about subway. I think I've seen one with drive thrus. I have seen a couple of Schlotsky's with them though.
I've been to Schlotzskys with drive thrus, although most dont. Subway though, thats true. No drive thru. They prepare your food after you order it. But it's instant service, while you're in line, so it is fast. You don't take a number and get the food later. And it's not exactly a restaurant-type setting.
North: 8) James Coney Island South: 3) Sonic Best matchup in my mind and I will not choose. Ok fine Sonic. East: 1) Wendy's West: 8) Taco Cabana
You have the food brought to you at Whataburger if you sit down, at least all the ones I've been to. I've seen people at Fuddruckers order their food and stand at the counter waiting on their food.
1) I have been to dozens of different Whataburgers and can tell you that this most certainly does not happen. 2) Only in perhaps the most extreme example of the restaurant being empty would people wait at the Fuddrucker's counter for 5-10 minutes on food. Why would they give you the box that lights up if you are waiting at the counter? There would be no reason to give you the box if what you are saying is true.
You haven't ate at Whataburger enough. I would say roughly 25% of the time they bring the food to my table when I dine in. It all depends if your food is ready or not. If it's going to take 2+ minutes, they'll ask you to sit and bring the food to you. If the food is already ready, why would they ask you to sit when they can hand it to you right then and there??
I have eaten at two Whataburgers in the past week and I can tell you that this most definitely happens. They give you those numbers you put out on the table so the worker can identify which table to take the food to. This occurs at many fast food restaurants, including many Dairy Queens I've been to. I have seen people wait at the counter for 5-10 minutes for food. In fact, I have done it myself. I did it because I wanted Fuddruckers, but wasn't going to eat it there. There's a reason to give people the box because not all people want to stand up for that long. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I think you just proved that Fuddruckers is fast food. Any place where you can get a meal in 5-10 minutes for under $10 has to be fast food.
North: 8) James Coney Island 2) South: 5) 3) Sonic East: 1) Wendy's 7) West: 8) 3) Dairy Queen In the whole Fast food or not argument Fuds is not fast food. Personally I think the lack of the drive through makes it a restaurant.
