Me too RiceDaddy7: I was the guy in the orange top.

If Dominique Wilkins isn't the best dunker then I dunno who is... the guy would do show dunks in a game through traffic... awesome!

MJ had great air and dunked over people, but Nique did it with such style that he gets the nod!

Anyone that names one of his dunks the "In Your Face Disgrace" is the man.

#7, #5, and #2 are hilarious for some reason.

On degree of difficulty, the KJ dunk on Dream has to be the greatest of all time:

    <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nqJvGIvWHfI&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nqJvGIvWHfI&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

He's 6'0", and it's not like he dunked on some Euro stiff or Manute Bol. He dunked on the greatest center in the history of the universe. A guy who ate small penetrators for lunch.

But then, Hakeem did what he does best:

vince carter's dunks were so sick, he couldn't just do a 360 in the dunk contest because he does that in game. so he does 360 windmills in the dunk contest. com on, you can't top it.

whats with all the vc fanbois...i'm assuming u are all <20.

    1. Rainman wasn't called reignman cuz of his dunkin skills...its cuz he sweated so much when he would go and stand on the free throw line it was just raining sweat down

IMO from the list of dunkers so far
    1. Dr. J is the reason VC dunks don't forget he was doing showtime dunks in games as well before anyone in today's game
    2. D.Wilkens is #2 of all time, over MJ
    3. MJ is a slasher/dunker wasn't as powerful as DW (Power>showmanship)
    4. VC
    5. SKemp

    Other list of favs:
Darvin Ham (his dunk contest dunk was harder then anyone's dunks at the time, due to the genius of a female dunk judge as well as the normal idiots, he didn't get to display his dunking power)

    Franchise - the mofo flys

Brent Barry - give props to the whitey that can fly like a black man watch his free throw line dunk in super slo mo THE MAN FLIES

    Kobe - cuz he's kobe :p

Amare - if we had amare, our FG % would skyrocket, he knows what to do...GET THAT WEAK STUFF OUTA HERE THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN

Baby Shaq - did you really get in his way while wearing a magic uniform

Sorry to break teh 1 name per post but meh

I'm 33, I grew up on jordan, in game dunks don't come close. Jordan does have incredible dunks, and so does dominique but vince carter put on dunk contest dunks in game.

Oh no... no he's not. We're talking about dunks here, this has nothing to do with basketball talent... and there's just no comparison. #1 all time dunker is Carter, bar-none. Everyone else is competing for #2, and for that I choose 'Nique.

My first thought was Dominique Wilkins, but VC is among the best.

I think if you took Vince Carter's top 100 in-game dunks, and matched them up against the top 100 in-game dunks for everyone else in NBA history (I mean combined... 'Nique, MJ, Kemp, EVERYONE)... VC still wins. VC's dunks as a Raptor just made all the other all-time greats look like dirt by comparison.

Eh. Most of his stuff is on breakaways without defenders under the basket. I'm sure if Jordan (or Wilkins, or Drexler, or Erving) could have done the same if he had focused less on winning and more on showboating.

Not going to argue over who is the best.

Just wanted to remember Chocolate Thunda. I remember after he shattered that first backboard, everybody was watching to see if he could/would do it again. When he brought down that 2nd one, man o man o man. Those were crazy days. And he was the perfect character for it too.

Shawn Kemp-has to be one of the sickest athletes I've ever seen. Ditto Dominique.

Dr. J and MJ were classic. I remember Dr J, when I was a little kid, watching him with the Nets with the big fro. Dude was flat awesome. MJ's dunks were just killer, as in they were designed to devastate and kill the opposition. Him and Scottie were the quickest to stab you with the dagger. I don't think MJ ever dunked to entertain the crowd except in All Star events. The rest of his game dunks were for the opponent.

Clyde the Glide, especially early in his career was a sick dunker too.

    Everybody is forgetting Spencer Haywood.

    Game. Set. Match.

he's got some of the most acrobatic in game dunks ever (and a huge number of them), some of the best posterizations ever (and a huge number of them), one of the most memorable dunk contests performance ever, and the consensus #1 dunk of all time with the dunk over weis.

and nobody has ever combined finesse and power the way he does on dunks. he can rock the rim and yet make it look so graceful, especially his windmills. no one makes such a perfect circle on the windmill.

i just don't see how it can be anyone other than vince when it comes to #1.
