Sweet Lew. With him on the wing, it was almost always was a very nice jam. Of course, I don't think he passed. Ever. Well, except to Mitchell Wiggins.
Lewis was a great finisher, and he did it with a myriad of ways. That soft shot with arc...nothing but net! There's no denying Clyde was incredible..During those PSJ days, there were so many memorable ones, but my favorite was against Louisville in the semi,in that great game.It was the one where he came in from the wing on one of the many breaks in that game, brought the ball high(way up on the glass),in his right hand......and then brought it down with a double clutch for a two handed throwdown over someone. On Bill Willoughby,I remember him being so young....one of the original high schoolers, after Moses. It's too bad his career didn't work out.
I don't remember when or whom he dunked on but was it the one where he barely got up there, dunked it, fell over backward, picked himself up and hustled back on defense? It was pure heart!
Buck "Out of Luck" Johnson.. Hands down Rockets all time Throw it Down No Flash All In Your Grill.. This is for your Momma Dunker! Then comes Glide... Don't get me wrong... But Since Buck to me was a more natural Rocket.. He was'nt known as a dunker at all Like Glide.. so To me he edges out Glide since he started out his Career in Portland and was already known as a dunker.. But when Glide got here he had lost a step. I'll give Francis Third, Thorpe 4th Olajuwon 5th.. Kenny Smith is 6th.... That's All For Me...
Actually, Buck's real nickname was "The Blade". I wanna say he got that nickname from Bill Worrell because a) he was skinny and b) he liked to "knife through the defense". While I am sure the former is true, I am not quite sure about the latter.
I know this is a lil off point but the 2 best dunks by a rocket to me was Francis dunking over Jahidi White(classic). Or Horry's break away dunk in the 2nd quarter of the 4th game of the Rockets playoff sweep of Orlando.
Maybe the Hawks/Kings version. Not the Rockets version. Someone needs to post a thread about best 3-point shooters for Kenny to get any love.
I think Francis's dunk over Sabonis a couple years ago was just sick! To add insult to unjury, he wrapped his legs around Saboni's neck!!!!!
Best Horry dunk was when he came from mid court on a missed free throw attempt, jumped from near the foul line, and rebound-jammed in the miss.
That was in Dallas his rookie year, I believe. I remember that one. That was during the "Horry is the next Pippen" days.
You laugh, but one of the best dunks I've ever seen was by Two Sandwiches during a summer league game. It was right out of Ruckers. He took it soft off the glass with his right hand, went around his defender on the left side, and stuffed it down his mug. Ridiculous.
First Team ALL DUNK Kenny "The Jet" Smith--PG (only because Francis is a 2) Stevie Francis--SG Clyde Drexler--SF Otis Thorpe--PF Ralph Sampson--C
