Finn*, good call on the Marx Bros , absolutley timeless classics.. Deckard, and on Mad, Mad, Mad World...I could watch that one a million times(Im halfway there) Phil Silvers and Jonathan Winters kill me!! and one last one Big
I'm impressed with how many got listed that I didn't think of. A lot of people listed stuff that AFI lists as comedies, but I don't think they are pure comedies like big. Half of the movie is just not funny and not meant to be funny. It was a performance art by Tom Hanks, that's it. Castaway had funny parts, but it's definitely no comedy. Good call on The Gods Must Be Crazy, but don't forget number II.
Most of mine have already been posted, but here they go again. Spinal Tap Repo Man Dr. Strangelove Annie Hall Love And Death Stripes Caddyshack Fletch Raising Arizona Big Lebowski Animal House Fast Times at Ridgemont High Bottle Rocket Shanghai Noon A Night At The Opera Animal Crackers Horsefeathers Monkey Business Miracle at Morgan's Creek Monty Python movies (all of them) Meatballs Office Space Billy Madison Young Frankenstein Blazing Saddles The World's Greatest Lover I'm sure I'm probably forgetting some other really good ones.
"Yeah, well at least I'm house broken." "The Dude Abides. I don't know about you folks, but I take comfort in knowing that the Dude is out there, takin 'er easy fer all us sinners out there. "
Great quotes, across110thstreet and Heretic. Anyone who's never seen this flick has my envy. It'll blow you away and you'll have a hard time not croaking with laughter. IMHO!
