Hands down, Sinh Sinh on Bellaire has the best Chinese food in town.

If anyone goes there, try the Com Bo Luc Lac.

If you don't like it, I'll ask John Stockton for his autograph.

Everyone has got to try Chinese Cafe on Bellaire. There are two other locations like Rimbaud pointed out (one somewhere close to the Galleria and one in Sugar Land somewhere). But the one on Bellaire is the best.

PF Changs in also bad ass. I would vote for both of them as number one.

Here's one vote against Sinh Sinh. I've only been there once, but I hated it, and don't plan on returning. I'll take Chinese Cafe (which is just down the road) over Sinh Sinh any day.

I try to eat Vietnamese, though I often stick to the Americanized stuff such as noodle bowls. Once I got a Vietnamese sandwich for $2 here in Austin, except (yes, I'm white) it had some weird mystery ingredient in it. Long stringy stretchy things. Pork tendons, maybe? I wouldn't know. It takes some getting used to... :)

Another dumb question, but don't you "walk" through ALL buffets??

PF Changs is good. I get Changs spicy kitchen, but its too spicy.

China Stix at Holcombe and Buffalo Speedway is excellent. General Tso's is the best there.

Hunan Restaurnat on Post Oak and Oriental Express in the Galleria are both solid, from the same owner.

North China on Gessner i believe is also very solid. Mandarin Chicken.

BTW- Auntie Chang's sucks some serious ass. They use dark meat chicken, and the dumplings also suck serious ass. Very very stanky ass chinese food.

Dude...Chang's Spicy Chicken has no "hot" spice in it whatsoever...it's more sweet...

Dim sum is where they have lots of little appetizers, dumplings. etc. on rolling carts. The servers roll the carts through the restaurant and up to your table, where you pick and choose what you want off the cart. The server then notes what you ordered on a tally sheet on your table, and that's how they add up what your bill is. It's alot of fun if you've never tried it.
