There's actually a PF Chang's on the Westside now. It's also on Westheimer, but in the 11000 block.

Actually I think a better buffet which is down the street is that NEW CHINA BUFFET right off of beechnut and hwy 6. It offers sushi, chinese food, and even dim sum for 7.99 the times I go. HUGE variety. It's one of the few buffets where I actually see asian people outnumber the non-asians so you know it's gotta be good. But if buffet is not your thing and you like to eat late night? Tan Tan on bellaire and ranchester is good and so is sinh sinh which is down the street. They are usually open until 3am on weekends, so no more late nights at denny's or IHOP or mama's after the clubs.

If you like malaysian food there is a good malaysian restaurant on wilcrest and high star. I'd recommend having a large party so you can get a taste of all their foods. You almost can't go wrong with anything on Bellaire as far as asian foods go. It just depends on what type of asian you want. :)

I ate leftovers today, but if you want to meet at Eastern anytime, I'm down.

I live off of Bellaire past the Beltway. I only eat asian food in that strip as well. One of my favorite places, and I recommend it to you all, again, is Lai Lai Dumpling House.

    9262 Bellaire Blvd.
    Houston, TX 77036-4502
    Phone: (713) 271-0080

For feeding lots of people, it's pretty ideal. It's a tiny hole in the wall though, so if you live close enough, phone in an order and go pick it up. Watching a DVD and eating chinese food, that's the life.

Ocean Palace is on the right side, so I'm guessing you went to Tay Do, which is Vietnamese. It used to be the shiznit, but when I want Vietnamese, I go to A Dong(don't laugh), which is in the shopping center at Bellaire and Willcrest.

Chinese Cafe is where Chinese people eat.

It was originally a hole in the wall in Bellaire. It grew to be so popular, they expanded to different locations.

The Szechaun Style Fried Beef is awesome and you won't find that anywhere. I could eat that anyday of the week.

There aint no Moo Goo Gai Pan.

Dear God... do they still have Timmy's Subgum Rice?! I never ate at a place that put enough food into one container for 2 people and still costs about $5-$6.

Not when I've been there. I'm tellin' ya, go to Shanghai or Santong, and you will forget all about Chinese Cafe and it's Americanized shizznit.

Go south on the Beltway, make a left on Bellaire, and you will hit the two places I posted earlier in the thread.

Chinese Cafe (Richmond near 610). Great recipe for sweet and sour chicken that's unlike the "shizznit" you usually get. :) I don't know if it's authentic, but it's good.

I will admit though, it was a mistake on my part a few weeks ago when I was in NYC with a Chinese co-worker. I made the mistake of telling him, "I'll eat anything you eat."

The pork intestines were actually pretty good, but the "spicey, crispy squids" were NOT the spicey calamari I was hoping for. I'm pretty sure that there were sun-dried squids that were later fried just enough to kill the germs and soaked in some kind of sweet sauce. I never could figure out why they called them spicey.

I was fortunate enough (or so I was told) to get one of the fish eyeballs in my bowl of fish head soup. Did you know there is something crunchy in the middle of a fish eyeball? It's like a cherry pit. Thankfully he told me it's proper to spit that part out.
