    Shandon,

He played better defense than most, but I still wasn't that impressed. I wouldn't say he "owned the battle". Look at Duncan's shot attempts. 14 shots and 10 shots? He should be getting 25 shots a game in those types of situations, at least He wasn't aggressive enough offensively, imho, and his teammates didn't get him the ball enough either. More of the blame goes with Duncan and the Spurs imho, but I can see where you're coming from too.

i completely agree with verse...he said what i was meaning to say, look at games 3 &4, thats what i was talking about, and it wasnt a coincidence
and sorry, Duncan is a PF, it doesnt matter what his height and weight are. I'm sure he could still handle scrub centers and the soft euro ones, but he is and should always be a 4. He is one of the top 4s in the game, but we need a CENTER
Dont get me wrong, duncan would be a great addition still and horry did have him locked down in the last 2 games, which were the ones where he primarily guarded him rather than grant

What NBA centers could Duncan not guard? I've seen him guard Shaq as well as anyone, but even if you disagree, hardly anyone can guard Shaq. After Shaq, there's Mourning, Robinson, Mutombo, Hakeem, Lafrentz, etc... do you really think Duncan can't handle them? That's crazy.

In games 1 and 2, Horry averaged 27.5 minutes per game. In games 3 and 4, Horry averaged 26.5 minutes per game. And no, Horry and Grant were not on the floor at the same time. Horry actually spent more time on Duncan the first two games.

Also, Jason Collier played about 15 minutes per game in two Laker games. The first game, Shaq got 24 points and 7 rebounds. The second game, he got 14 points and 5 rebounds. This is SHAQ! Hakeem obviously guarded him for about 25 minutes himself. If Horry's performance in two games means he can stop Duncan, can we say that Hakeem and Collier can stop Shaq?

I THINK(my opinion) Hakeem could guard shaq as good as anyone, if shaq didnt get away with some of his elbows.
I dont think duncan could guard hakeem when he's on, mutombo, and ...
    ok ok, i give in
Duncan would be a fine center i guess, he just seems undersized
also duncan just annoys me for some reason, even though i think he's a good player, he seems more ideal at 4, but he'd fit in good at 5 for the rockets if he ran the break well, they would be deadly
Basically i just contradicted my opinion and now agree with you, but i still think Horry was shutting him down in Games 3 & 4 pretty bad.
