that's what i thought, everyone seemed against the idea when i brought up his name, probably just because he's a Laker, but the guy has skills we could definitely use...

What exactly are you saying? I cant understand your post, are you saying we shouldnt trade Artest just because we're known for D and not offense???

and i guess no one has mentioned this, but Allen was playing injured during the Orlando series, as well as a couple other Celtics, i think it was a hamstring problem, so the guy isn't 100%. I dont think he needs surgery, but i'm not sure how series it is, doc said it was really bothering him though..

Hardly anyone can deny that Odom has a skill set that could be useful for us. The problem is with his inconsistencies. He only plays when he wants to put in an effort.

odom is probably the only guy sine magic who can play all 1-5 positions. i've always liked his game. but the guy has said he'd be willing to take pay cut to stay in l.a.

That might have been when they were a "lock" to win the championship... Times change very quickly.

I think it's stupid. Why would we give Boston Ron Artest? Just imagine how good they would be with Ron? I hate Boston already and we giving them our toughest player? Not in a million years Boston.

yes that is true but there would be no defense from him .

Artest (sign and trade) + Landry to Phoenix for Amare. If Artest gets a first year salary of $9.4 million, added to Landry's $3 million, this would be within 25% of Amare's $16.4 million cap figure to make the trade work. This gives Phoenix a team salary break of $4 million for next year, enough to probably get under the luxury tax, a huge selling point to Phoenix as it is cash strapped. Plus Phoenix gets a starting SF and PF to pare with Nash/Shaq/JRich/Barbosa and maybe Grant Hill. Amare would be our starting PF and backup C, give Yao a lot of rest, leaving Scola to be instant offense off the bench.

Phoenix is not going to trade Amare without getting legit young talent back + expiring + get rid of jason richardsons contract at the same time.

I don't think it's good idea. Without Ron, our team defense is weak especially if you have Ray in there. Even with Tmac in the lineup, our defense is weak. WE need RON and Shane starting SOMEHOW!

C'mon, you're better than this. Anybody still drinking the Lamar Odom Kool-Aid at this point needs a serious reality check.

And to compare him to Artest is flat out ludicrous. Effort is never a question with Artest. For better or worse he "brings it" 100% -- all the time. Odom only plays when he wants to do. He disappears out there before choosing the 1/5 possessions that he'll actually try. He's garbage.

and why would you want to keep a player who is questinable and trade away an efficient one. Ron deserves Tmac's salary.

First - Ron isn't going to get big money in this economy. I've said it before and I'll say it again. He's 29 years old. Despite his problem free season, people still remember his history. Nobody is going to throw big money at a potential headcase on the downside of his career. At least, not in this economy. I'm not going to be surprised at all if Ron goes for somewhere around the MLE. And I think the Rockets will retain him.

Second - Ray Allen? Seriously? What do you guys want with all of these old broken down guys like Nash and Allen? I know they can still be good on occasion - but for the money they cost - no thanks.

I am totally fine with 10M/y for Ron, that's where his value is
