Buffets are usually too dirty a place to eat. Imagine everyone using the same spoon or knife to scoop up food and cut meat. Then those same germs are spread to your hands, then to the food, then to your mouth.
I like it, used to work up there over on the Beltway and Imperial Valley and took 1-2 hours lunches to eat there. Their location on 59 by the fountains sucks compared to the one on 45 north. I am usually down for most chinese places and pizza places. I tried Double Dave's Pizza Buffet and think its awesome. Their pepproni rolls are worth it alone. Anybody know any place that has make your own stir fry buffet place? They used to have it over at the filipino restaraunt I went to called "Gold Ribbon" on Holcomb, but they don't do that anymore. I heard there is a place on 45 South near Nasa Road, but thats too damn far for me. Also, any places that has Dim Sum on their buffets? There were a few places that I knew, but closed down on me
i think people overreact when it comes to germs. i want clean food just as much as you. and yes, you're probably gonna get more germs at a buffet than anywhere else. but as long as you can tell they make a good effort to keep it as clean as possible, i don't see much of a problem. i have never gotten sick from eating at a buffet. besides, a little germ can be good for you. it'll build your immune system. all i have to do for proof is look at my parents and grandparents. asian folks aren't the cleanest of people and pick off of each others food with their hands. yet, they hardly get sick. they probably think i'm snobbish for not joining in but they can live with it. BTW, Todai sushi buffet isn't a bad place.
i'm not a buffet guy. ryan's is hideous. ryan's is someone's idea of a bad joke. just awful. i do like Lucky Village. two locations i know of: dairy ashford near i-10; westheimer, between the beltway and Wilcrest
(Meat lovers) Fogo de Chao $40 for lunch $50 for dinner #1 by far (Greek) Dimassi's ($10 drink included) was great the first time I went, but after that it got old but if you love greek food this is a great place. (Pizza) Double Daves (Mexican) Panchos, I dont know of any other mex buffet. (Chinese) Golden Island
i believe every buffet in the country should adopt the flag system that Pancho's employs. allowing us fat Americans to boldly raise our flags demanding more enchiladas and flautas, as long as we don't have to get up to go get them.
A cheaper alternative to Fogo is this place: http://houston.citysearch.com/profi...nelore_churrascaria_brazilian_steakhouse.html I ate at this place twice already and all I can say is WOW. The whole experience rocks from the atmosphere to food to service. You can get a dinner buffet for about $30 a person.
this place sounds good. can you ask to have your steak rare though? or is already cooked to a standard temperature and that's just what everyone gets?
Alright here comes my list Indian- Bombay Brasserie- I am so glad they reopened after the fire. My all time favorite was Bombay Palace but someone bought it and the chef left with the owner I hear. Thai - Thai Spice in the Village- I love the winter rolls and the service is always good there Pizza - Double Dave's on 59 N and Wesleyan- Cheesesteak Stromboli, nuff said. Sushi - Karyn's on Fountain View- Service is annoying, they always seem rude, food is quality though Chinese- I don't really have on b/c I prefer Fu's garden and you order from a menu.
I never eat buffets anymore, except for Dimassi's. It never gets old to me...mmmmmmm, lamp shanks....my stomach is growling...
