I occassionally think I should read Catcher in the Rye but never get around to it. I'm supposing I would get a lot of endorsements of the book from the BBS?

Anyway, great books I have read:

    1. Catch-22
    2. Chronicle of a Death Foretold
    3. That Hideous Strength
    4. The first 70 pages of Crime & Punishment (I'd probably like the rest of the book too now)
    5. Lolita
    6. The Rievers
    7. I know there are a ton of others but I can't think of them now.

Animal farm really cought my imagination, as did lord of the flies.
I guess 7th grade was good to me.

I really didnt care for gatsby i think because i live out here.

I really enjoyed a great deal of my reading at University, but most of that was stuff like "interstellar Bolides" and not so much stories.

I did however learn to hate King Arthur after taking MVL342"the legend of king arthur" I read some 30 diff versions about the legend and had to know the differences between the different books throughout time. do you know the nake of King arthurs sword (sure your do) his horse(maybe you do) his spear.. not likely. I never knew he had a damn spear. and how arthurian is the name RON?? who names a spear anyways.

god that was the hardest c+ ever earned

catch-22 is the best i have read, but it was not assigned. my brother did computer work at joseph hellers house less than a year before he died. we have 2 hardcopies signed and 1 paperback in my family. I guess my father was also greatly influenced by the book as his copy has a long dedication in it. my father became a pacifist because of that tome.

good stuff about a bad thing.
    war sucks

What about Who Moved My Cheese, it was short and to the point. I also liked Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Animal Farm.

Dave Matthews plays the Dad in a possible movie adaptation. They've filmed most of it, but they ran out of money.

Did you read the first two in that trilogy of books? I love C.S. Lewis and I thought that Peralandra and Out of the Silent Planet were even better than That Hideous Strength.

    As far as school books:

    Lord of the Flies
    Where the Red Fern Grows
    A Wrinkle in Time
    Alas, Babylon
    MacBeth
    A Midsummer Night's Dream
    1984
    Red Badge of Courage
Tom Sawyer, and Huck Finn books

    Just to name a few.
