Listeria is my favorite flavor. Ever since....wait....cough cough, wheeze. Gurgle...cough...... They really should have a flavor called KPRC. As much as that station's news crew sucks up to Blue Bell, "Now 100% Listeria Free, yum yum!^
On Wednesday, the Brenham-based company posted on its website that the the compromised product was at a Walmart store in Lufkin. In a statement, Blue Bell said: We have identified a Walmart in Lufkin, Texas, as the store where the malicious act of food tampering took place. Our staff recognized the location in the video, and we inspected the freezer case. We found a Tin Roof half gallon that appears to have been compromised. Based on security footage, the location and the inspection of the carton, we believe we may have recovered the half gallon that was tampered with. Out of an abundance of caution, we have also removed all Tin Roof half gallons from that location. The Lufkin Police Department has been notified and is taking over the investigation. The safety of our ice cream is our highest priority, and we work hard to maintain the highest level of confidence of our customers. Food tampering is not a joke, and we will not tolerate tampering with our products. We are grateful to the customers who alerted us and provided us with information.
Is Lemon sold throughout the year? If not when does it come out? I don't know when the last time I've seen it.
I know I am in the minority here but I actually avoid Blue Bell. I'm a label reader and its full of junk. There are better ice creams out there IMO.
I’m with you 100%. I went to the factory recently and was so disappointed by the quality of the ice cream. Blue Bell built its brand before better ice cream was distributed.
Before they embraced corn syrup... and the listeria issues... ALL FLAVORS WERE GREAT. I switched to only real ice cream made with sugar. HAAGAN DAAZ or bust these days. Unless they switched too. They are no longer the good business they were and they rely too much on Texans to buy it out of memories and nostalgia for what it was. And simple pride. But truthfully, they abandoned Texans long before the listeria outbreak even. Screw them.
