The one time I tried Kreuz, it was alright, but unluckily for them, I had Snow's earlier that day. It wasn't close - Snow's brisket blew away Kreuz's brisket. The brisket and ribs I had at Kreuz couldn't hold a candle to the brisket and ribs I had at Franklin. BTW, there's a 4th BBQ joint in Lockhart - Chisholm Trail.
I've been to that one once, that's what some of the local residents recommended as their favorite. I'm not sure why, because I wasn't impressed with their ribs or brisket. They were cheap though.
Actually my favorite is Louie Mueller's in Taylor. The beef ribs will change your life. I'm not kidding.
In my experience, Kreuz is considerably better than Smittys. And Smitty's is considerably better than Black's. That said, most of what I had ad Blacks was still pretty good.
