Lakers fans believe that all other TEAMS exist to serve the Lakers. That's why I hate them so much. BTW, great post, napalm.
You make a great distinction between support and politeness. Houston is like polite city. Which in my mind is the opposite of a being a fan or a fanatic. Houston = too polite. Jazz = too rude. I am sure other teams love coming to Houston because no-one behind the visitors bench ever says anything rude, and if some fool does then the ushers tell them to stop it immediately. I have had other fans(??) tell me to sit down when the Rockets are playing the video of Battier and Deke telling people to stand up and get loud! No-one in this town ever honks their horn. The fool in front at the light can fall asleep and not move when the light changes and I am the only one who ever honks - the rude Yankee. and Jose - if USA is the worst chant you Hispanics have to endure - well oh my gosh gee willikers, life is just so tough. I have been to Tae Kwon Do tournies in the USA where the illegal Mexicans go nuts chanting Me-hi-co and staring Anglos down outside the ring and looking like they want to start fights outside the ring because their guy is supposedly being cheated by refs. BTW newly arrived illegal Hispanics are the worst for being too polite in traffic and causing potential life threatening situations on the roads. A few months ago I had one stop in 40 mph traffic on Hillcroft to let another Hispanic get over. Can anyone say rear end???
I wonder how Toyota Center would sound during a Rockets game if someone turned off the PA system. I'm betting pretty quiet.
i guess what i mean by best fans are like the ones with best sportsmanship or at least fans that don't have a bad reputation like detroit fans (throwing drinks, food, and even CHAIRS!) and for me, any team who boo's their own team (lakers and knicks are the ones that come to mind), are probably among one of the worst fans. how can you boo your own team and still call yourself a 'FAN?' even when tmac was playing like crap and clearly showing no effort (which i was there), there was no boos at the toyota center. the kings fans back in the day with divac, webber, and bibby imo was a really good fan base. they had sold out games, loud crowd, and nothing that i can really remember that made them be seen in the negative light. while the jazz are very prideful and supportive (which is great), they're abunch of assholes. idk if you guys remember the playoffs, but one of the fans with court side seats had to be escorted out of the building for saying some really bad stuff. and i remember another time when stuff was being thrown at the rockets bench. that just tarnishes their whole image no matter how supportive they are. as much as we all hate the jazz and their fans, i hope we dont ever end up like them and sink down to their level.
because you expect a winning product on the floor and you know that the team's owner is not giving you that product. Knicks fans are honest with their team, when they are playing hard the Arena is the most electric in the League. Knicks fans are some of the best in the League, not like the self-entitled Lakers fans...
i agree; will also say that Knicks fans, arguably, are most knowledgeable fans. care to elaborate, give eg if u can.
i am a Lakers fan, i don't believe that, nor the chorus of other Lakers in my social circle. i just think ur project ur inferiority complex. just making up crap to diminish the greatness of a successful team, one that has been far superior than your home team.
I live in LA. I know plenty of Lakers fans. So I know what they are. And it's not just the fans. It's the whole organization. If you are a Lakers fan, what are you doing here trolling in a Rockets place?
Spurs have terrible class, I don't know you are talking about. I have been to their Arena, they are like the Jazz but with Latinos instead of white people.
their just too excited cus the franshise has moved to thier city. so ofcourse theyr gonna have a packed arena so they can watch other teams also, so they'll slow down a lil in couple of yrs.
Dunno if this has been posted or mentioned yet, so feel free to take it down if needed. Here is an article about how the Jazz are the worst fans in the NBA: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/22893-utah-jazz-the-most-disgusting-fans-in-the-nba
Rockets have the worst fans in the world at home games. From people who still wear T-mac jerseys to the people who arrive late and leave early and stay at the lounge the whole time. Best fans have to go to Portland. They always get loud and always show up.
houston has terrible fans. only loved when winning. just read comments on this site. win a few games = best team in nba. score big = great player/clutch performer. Lose a few and you suck best fans. Knicks. Love em or hate em
If you consider best fans I would give it to utah they always are selling out and the fans who go are loud and support their team. If this is the most liked fans then Utah is out and you can give it to someone else. Just cuz you dont like them doesnt mean they are the worse fans.
+1, although I'd have to say GSW is probably a bit better. Its easy to root for your team when it has a history of winning (i.e. Sacto, Celtics, etc.). But the Thunder have one of the loudest arenas around you'd think they were in college or something. And the thing is they suck. The Thunder keep losing game after game, but the fans still come out in droves. Now that's loyalty. GSW is pretty good as well, I don't they've won a championship yet, and they only had like 3 years of compentency and over a decade of ineptitude already.
