SFR and SCL, Are there tracks on that album that are worth getting over and above 2pacs GREATEST HITS album? I know six tracks on ALL EYES ON ME are on the greatest hits album. All of which I like. In addition, did you know 2pac has a book of poems out now? I am not sure when they were released it but I plan on getting the book as soon as possible. ------------------ I am an invisible man. Best? Probably one of my box sets: Earth, Wind & Fire Cheap Trick Steely Dan All of those would be up there with any Beatles record. Worst? Hmmmmm. If I have it, I don't consider it bad because I've gotten rid of all the CD's I didn't like. Maybe the worst record I ever owned was Little Johnny Whittaker performing songs from Sigmund and the Sea Monster. Awesomely horrible! ------------------ The internet is about the free exchange and sale of other people's ideas. - Futurama
Allow me to give my perspective here. IMO, that album was perfect--not a song on there I don't LOVE...in fact, the Greatest Hits Album could have included EVERY song on All Eyez on Me...it's that good. The Greatest Hits album has some of the more accepted and cleaner songs on it, but if you are at ALL a Tupac fan, All Eyez on Me is essential. About the poetry book--I've read the whole thing...the quality of the poetry isn't the remarkable thing about the book, but it does give a different perspective on the man behind the music...and has some pretty good stuff in it. Any BIG 2Pac fan should read it, but if it's the POETRY part that appeals to you, maybe not so much. Back to the album...buy it man. You won't regret it. Now come on, everybody--I KNOW a lot of you must own this album. Back me up here. ------------------ Jazzkiller
Best Album? There are way too many to choose from. I still say that "Appetite for Destruction" is my favorite album for having kick a$$ song after kick a$$ song from cover to cover. Either that or any one of Aerosmith's first four albums, or any one of my Jethro Tull favorites. Worst? Does it count if my wife bought it? If so, then it has to be Patra's "Queen of the Pack". Man, I just looked through our collection, and she really has some bad ones in there. She has a tendency to buy things at the spur of the moment, and regret it later. If it has to be one I got, then it's either Air Supply's "Greatest Hits" (ugh) or Mr. Mister's "Welcome to the Real World" (even though I still love "Broken Wings". ------------------ DREAMer's Rocket Page
Best - Probably Madonna "Ray of Light", although Pearl Jam "Live: On Two Legs" and Green Day "Nimrod" are some of my favs as well. Worst - Mortal Kombat: The Movie Soundtrack Its not that its bad, its is just that all of my other CDs are better. ------------------ Liberals favor using artificial means to alter the normal to a state which facilitates and justifies how irresponsible they want to be
Best: DMB-Crash (though it alternates between U2-The Joshua Tree, The Beatles-Revolver, Radiohead-The Bends) Worst: I once owned a John Tesh Album ------------------ www.swirve.com "Pre-born, you're fine, pre-school, you're f*****."-George Carlin
Best: Amorica, Black Crowes. Dust, Damon Johnson. Worst: Coverdale/Page. I bought it at the height of my mania for Led Zeppelin-- "Who CARES if David Coverdale rips off Robert Plant? It's got JIMMY FREAKIN PAGE on it!" I was able to stop short of buying Page's solo album used for $30 (which it was going for then). Oh, and one I have no recollection of buying or ever even listening to: August and Everything After, Counting Crows. I never liked them, so I don't know how I ended up with their album.
Been waiting for this thread Best: The Jimi Hendrix Experience-1968 A.D. Part Two This has the Hendrix Home Demos. Jimi by himself, just him and his tape recorder. Great stuff!!! The Beatles (Black Album) This is the Beatles home demos. Very Rare and Awesome!!! Worst: Metal Inferno Back in my Metal days I bought this load of crap. Songs like: Venom-Black Metal Witchfinder General-Freinds in Hell You get the idea. ------------------ One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. Best: GZA - Liquid Swords Worse: Wreckshop - Wrecks n effect [I like rumpshaker but . .the version of Wreckshop i like was not on the album!!!!] Rocket River These are subject to change. ------------------
Best albums: The Velvet Underground -Words and Music of Lou Reed Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Antone Dvorak - Piano Quintets Worst albums Spawn - music from the motion picture Deep blue something - (forget the album) C&C Music Factory (forget the album) ------------------ A few years back on the Senate floor... Best Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic No Doubt - Return Of Saturn No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom Beatles - One John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days I really don't have a worst because I wouldn't buy it if I thought it sucked. ------------------ I have seen much of the rest of the web. It is brutal and cruel and dark. CC.net is the light.
LOL I heard that album sucked too. I would have to say the best CD I have is: "Prodigy - The Fat of the Land".. a close second would have to be the Matrix soundtrack. I have a lot of bad albums... but most of them aren't my fault ------------------ "Minute after minute, hour after hour, the proud and strong knight struggled in vain against the wasp inside his armour."
Best- Beatles "White Album" Worst- Ace of Base (it's my girl's) ------------------ C-son -------------- "When life gives you lemons, Shut up and eat the lemons!" - Harry Solomon
Best: Why is this the most dificult question ever? Um.."Revolver" by the Beatles, but the Rhino box-set of the 1970's is the very definition of love (or, perhaps, cheese. Worst: "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent. I actually like this, but it really does objectively suck. -Elvis! ------------------
For the best album in my less than extensive collection, I pick Gish by the Smashing Pumpkins. That album has a great mix of mellow and the uh, not-so-mellow. They sound awesome on that album. I have bought so many horrible CDs that I don't even know where to begin. Jars of Clay, Winger, Billy Thorpe, David Lee Roth's Skyscraper... ------------------ The DRUNKministrator?
The entire CD is great, including the songs that are not on Greatest Hits. And I knew about the book, I actually have a post from a newsgroup saved on my computer that has most of the poems from that book in it. He was definitely talented as a writer. ------------------
OK, I'm up to the challenge! Who's with me?!?!?! All right stop Collaborate and listen Ice is back with my brand new invention
