Teen Dream didn't live up to the hype for me. I mean, its fine and all, but overrated. I even saw them live and again, they were good, but not amazing. Just a decent album, nothing special. But thats just my opinion. And I haven't listened to it all that much, maybe its a grower.
I need to get the new Deerhunter as well as La Noise. As of right now, I would have to say "Go" by Jonsi is my pick.

As others have mentioned, it is probably too early to proclaim one album to be the best for that said year (although I don't see anything else coming out from now til the 31st of December that is better than Jonsi's "Go"). I can tell you the album of the year for 2009 though - it is "Untitled #23" by The Church.
Usher's new album is definitely the album of the year - with OMG coming in as the single of the year.
Okay, I got the mp3 version of "Halcyon Digest" this morning and after one listen felt it would be a grower type album. I can't say that it will ever be better than "Microcastle" but it definitely comes across as a logical progression for them after "Microcastle". So I got to thinking about the albums I have that came out in 2010 and I can only come up with 8. The days of me loading up with a bunch of music is over, lol. The eight albums are: Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest Kele - The Boxer Brandon Flowers - Flamingo Blonde Redhead - Penny Sparkle Interpol - Interpol Liars - Sisterworld Jonsi - Go MGMT - Congratulations Several of these need to be listened to more than once (such as MGMT and Blonde Redhead). My initial thoughts on each after just one listen: Halcyon Digest - potential, grower album The Boxer - more electronic than the normal Bloc Party album, also a grower album Flamingo - Killers Lite, "Crossfire" dominates the album as the best track Penny Sparkle - decent but no "23" Interpol - boring, stale, and staid - Editors are doing a better job of being Interpol than Interpol themselves Sisterworld - not as good as their self-titled album but pretty strong for a highly underrated band Go - great to hear Sigur Ros' frontman sing in English and upbeat pop songs! I read a review that said that the first track (and best overall) in "Go Do" sounded like the theme song to pixies and fairies training to go to battle. It is my favorite album of 2010 although it could be overtaken by the new Deerhunter one. Congratulations - loved Oracular Spectacular - this one? not so much but I need to give it a couple of more spins. I would still like to get Neil Young's latest and I am heavily anticipating January 2011 with the new releases by Wire and Gang of Four coming out.
Arcade Fire- the suburbs Ra Ra riot the orchard The new hellogoodbye album is surprisingly good (forgot name) Recovery Vampire Weekend- Contra
the listeners have spoken: readers poll winner for best album of 2010 Baths - Cerulean http://thefourohfive.com/articles/4441 Will from Baths has had, one can only assume, a good year. From being featured in Pitchforks rising late last year, to releasing Cerulean to massive critical respect, it's been a year of achievement. And winning this readers poll, I hope, will be the first in a chain of people applauding this very unique record. It's dance but not, indie but not, electronica but not - in fact everything it's been pigeonholed in in one review has been denied in another. It's the stunning individuality and breathless beauty of this album that makes it what it is.
