It's easy to be a skeptic on 4k and whether or not it's worth it. But from my experience they are at least as good as similarly priced 1080p sets, and superb when it comes to brightness and clarity. I'm glad I bought one, and the 4k content that's coming is just a plus.
I got tired of buying a new tv every 2 years because I would wait for the newest tech to get cheap just to see an advancement and already start planning another purchase. For an extra $700 I got my 65"4K instead of an 80" 1080p set. I got my 4k a year ago and love it. Don't plan on buying another TV for 5 more years.
