Funny you should mention that, I just bought a big pack of them at HEB. I've made it a point to try all the different kinds of sausage. I hope my momentous decision was a wise one.

dream first, ryan a distant second, then campbell. earl's thrid cause i like baseball and basketball more, and really his career was alot shorter then the other two.
ryan is more popular than dream and he has the sexy strikeout record, but facts show dream was a better player in his sport than nolan. he has the championships and he has the mvp. ryan is a clear hall-of-famer but he's a bit overrated. you could probably make a better argument that dream is one of the five greatest nba players in history then ryan being among the top ten pitchers.

All three are great Houston Sport Icons...I choose Hakeem as he literally carried our team to win our 2 championships...

    Ah HAH!

    Its RM95 posting as Tigermission!

The proof, Inspector Jorge pointed out that RM95 often uses "oops" in short biting posts. Tigermissions posts are usually longwinded affairs regarding Islam.

So we here have conclusive proof that RM95 not only as posting as Major is posting as Tigermission!

The mind boggles as just how far the RM95 conspiracy goes........

of course hakeem, but those other two are also in my top 10 favorite athletes all-time and earl campbell is my father's favorite athlete ever. houston has had some great #34's, but hakeem's championships and the big man revolution he created with athleticism, skill, and outside shooting put him on the top.

    Ridiculous.

Before Earl and Bum came along, the Oilers were the laughingstock of the NFL. Earl put Houston football in the Map. One of the Greatest running backs to ever play in the NFL.

Dream is probably the 3rd greatest Center in NBA History, behind Russell and Chamberlain.

Nolan's win total would have been way up on the charts if the Astros had any kind of offense when he pitched (much like Clemens)

just like david carr, one player can't carry a team in football. hell they don't even play the whole game. To me Hakeem wins because he brought Houston its first and only championships, but he didn't have a better career than Earl because he won championships. If that makes any sense.

Yeah, but I just meant in general. The Rockets were the draw of the town from '93-98. The fans were loud and very passionate...not so anymore. I remember not being able to hear the fireworks they set off in the arena because it was so loud.

The most popular 34 in Houston sports is Dom's 34 defense.

this is OBVIOUSLY coming from someone who NEVER saw earl run. if he wasn't on one of the worst teams in the NFL for his whole career he would have been recognized as one of the best runningbacks EVER, till this day. no one and i mean no one was a tougher back to tackle than earl campbell. he was bulldozer with speed. i don't think i've ever seen anyone quite like earl campbell and for you to say that he doesn't deserve to be on the same list as hakeem and nolan ryan, you never saw him play.

Hakeem easily. i'm going to catch heat for this, but i think Nolan Ryan is kind of overrated. Yes, lots of strikeouts, lots of longevity - but he's a notch below the great great pitchers I think.

No disrespect to Ryan or Campbell, but Hakeem gets my vote.

Hakeem may not have have MJ's or Magic's charisma or the media's lap dog attention but he did his talking on the court which yielded two championships.
It wasn't in Hakeem's nature to court the media, otherwise he'd be like Charles Barkley.

Amen. There is not one center I would take above Dream, and he played college and pro ball here (and brought us our ONLY championships). He wins hands down.

I miss him. Outside of Jordan, Magic, Bird and Horry, I can't think of a more clutch player.
