we will have a pretty decent back up PF and PG with each player having decent experience. i'm 100 % positive lawson will start. but im not sure about who starts at PF. i already stated in another thread i will pulling for jones and also capela the most this season. people here WRONGLY put down jones' play. he will prove people on this board wrong this year and hold his own, perhaps in the starting spot of a championship team.
Best 10 based on talent (not potential): 1. beard 2. dwight 3. ty 4. ariza 5. dmo 6. brew 7. TJ 8. capela 9. pat 10. thornton Best 10 based on value to the franchise (talent & potential): 1. beard 2. dwight 3. ty 4. capela 5. ariza 6. dmo 7. dekker 8. brew 9. KJ 10. TJ
if we were to trade Jones, we'd better get a serviceable 4 back in return at least. Given DMO's back issue, we don't want to be forced to take a big chance on the rookies. I don't see either of them get off bench much this year. Jones is not going to be traded IMHO, unless something fantastic turns up
So the non starter is a better player than Jones? I like both tj and d-mo, but i think tj is the better player. Even it a poster dont like either, their separation is small.
1. Harden 2. Howard 3. Lawson 4. Ariza 5. Brewer 6. DMo (Maybe 5b to Brewer's 5a) 7. TJones 8. Beverly 9. Capela 10. McDaniels Filling out rest of rotation 11. Thornton 12. Dekker 13. Terry RGV Bound: 14. Harrell 15. Pick one of Tyler or Smith or Cummings *I could see Dekker sent down to the Vipers if it's known he's not going to get any significant playing time for certain stretches of the season, or if they want to swap him with Harrell. Probably my main difference between most posters here is that I thin Brewer has more talent currently than DMo, although I think that will definitely change in the next few years, if it doesn't this season.
Well I did cheat adding 6 players so let's take Beverly or Brewer out and we got shot clock violations and Blocked Shots all day long
The list is obvious Harden Howard Lawson Ariza Brewer Bev Dmo Jones Capella Terry/kJ/thorton are last because there minutes will be limited and who plays out of them is unclear
Beverley can defend elite players at his position. Harden Howard Lawson Ariza Bev Those are our best 5. Jones and DMo in whatever order you like next. Brewer. Capela. Terry. KJ. Thornton. Rookies.
The billboard says: Harden Dwight Ariza Dmo Lawson

The squad overlooking 59 near downtown Houston. 1. Harden 2. Howard 3a. DMo 3b. Lawson 3c. Ariza (These 3 could interchange during the season depending on health, matchups, etc. DMo could be traded in the right deal.) 6. Capela 7a. Harrell 7b. Dekker 7c. McDaniels 7d. Bev 7e. Brewer (These 5 could interchange during the seaason depending on health, trades, etc. I expect some of these guys in this group will be traded.) 12. Terry 13. Thornton 14. Whoever we sign after we drop Terrence.
I'm a HUGE fan of the wolverine, but honestly haven't seen him lockdown elite guards since his knee injury a few seasons ago. Let's just wait and see before declaring him elite again.
Capela is the hardest one to predict. One because he is way ahead of his learning curve and two he plays a position/style that doesn't allow of flexibility with d12. If he can play PF then he could jump all the way to number 4 on the high end.
I predict that he will defend backup 5's and backup 4's. On offense, he is a backup 5, with dunks, layups and putbacks.
