Seriously, Yao need to take his teammates to a China town in Houston and have a nice tea party to cleanse the minds of each...preferbly the tea of choice should be Jasmine green tea for his teammates to enhance physical vitality and Ginseng Royal herbal tea for JVG to cure any sexual dysfunctions.
I fully agree that there is no passion in the team, and I'll take it a step further and say not even Yao or McGrady provide "fire and attitude" -JVG has to pull Yao by the ear and go ballistic on him just to get him to be assertive and play like he did last night. -McGrady has been the best playmaker on the team, but I have yet to see him rally anyone on the court. -Jim Jackson has been the teams vocal leader as far as I've seen. Which is great, but you really need it to be your top player in order for the leadership to take hold. Taylor and Ward would have been beaten within an inch of their lives if they had played like that with Jordan, Bird, or Thomas. Both of them had more turnovers than points, and both were horrifyingly bad in the clutch. In our locker room though, I doubt they heard a word from Yao or Tracy. Evan
I don't think Yao or Tmac display fire or passion. This team needs a leader, and it can not be JVG. DD
I totally agree with Smoothie on this one. Blame our 1 & 4 positions; neither of them play defense, and our pg can barely make an accurate pass.
There is no emotion on this team. When was the last time we had a player get a technical for arguing with the officials? This team is too passive.
actually what all we need is a better PG our forwards are not bad, and we have great SG and Center just trade both Ward and Lue for one better PG
Why does it seem that Rudy always gets great play from his PGs?? The Lakers have Atkins and Tierre Brown and they have been playing pretty well. Maybe we need find some CBA players or a foreign PG. Cause I think our PGs might get schooled by Matt Maloney and Brent Price.
speak of fire and passion? you guys think we have a shot at getting JYD? (junk yard dog aka Jerome williams) i mean, that guy is all about fire and passion right? well am i right? no?
Sadly I agree. We need a starter who is really fired up. Even Jackson is more or less a quiet leader. I think Yao is our best bet for a fiery leader, but this is based only on reports of his play on the Chinese team. Van Grumpy should tell Yao to get fired up. If Yao got some technicals and fouled out a few times on some hard fouls or knocking guys down when fighting for position it might do the trick. It is sort of too early to have Yao yelling at his teammates in very broken English to start playing harder. Although maybe it would shock them.
