It wasn't really a bad one either. He won states in all four regions, still managed beyond 30% in Texas, Tennessee and did a lot better than I thought he should in Arkansas (but these along with Alabama and Georgia, we're not states he's really counting on) and they are all historically Republican come November. I think Massachusetts was the only slight bad loss (and it was by less than 2% with an almost split of delegates). Colorado and Minnesota were his biggest wins. Big delegate States where he won by a larger margin than the early voting polling indicated. Oklahoma win is surprising too me. There's still 35 states too go. Sure Clinton is going to smoke him in Southern states but if Oklahoma and Colorado are Bernie that is a good omen of him winning Kansas, New Mexico, Arizona, a goldmine of delegates in California, Oregon, Washington. Iowa was as close to a split vote as you can imagine, if he campaigns well and gains more momentum with the more and more endorsements both within politics and the entertainment world, which has an impact when they spread it on social media, etc he could steal a few states like N/S Dakota, Montana. Minnesota, Vermont and a 2% loss in Massachusetts. He could dominate These super delegates that are ignoring what voters want and siding with Clinton in even states Sanders has won the election, need to have their bank accounts taken away. If Sanders ends up with with more primary votes and 600-371 is close with 6 southern states already out of the way, then they must switch their vote. Otherwise, they are telling millions of voters behind Sanders they have no voice and the DNC elects Clinton anyways, she's not going to get back the votes and win the election. Her only chance at it would be adopting almost all of his policy or hoping he or Elizabeth Warren accepted a VP invite. I do think Sanders has the best in front of him
Hillary should not keep any of the 400 super delegates because she's won 7 states in the south that with the exception she will win in November when Sanders has already picked up 5 of the 8 other states counting a .2 loss in Iowa and 1.6 in Mass
They were stacked against him in so many ways. The DNC and HIllary gal Wsserman Shultz, starting off with the Confederate states that the Dems never win, super undemocratic delegates etc. To win the Super Tuesday Bernie would have had to have happened six months or so in the future.and Bernie would have to go very negative to explain exactly how for the average African American voting for Hillary over Bernie is just about as deluded as the poor and middle income whites who vote against their economic interests because they think the .1% ever gave a crap about abortion or gays or guns or even in most cases the color of the skin of their Wall Street employees.
Corporate journalism is losing some control, especially if we can keep net neutrality. Actually I think the election will be remembered for the first major blow for the Political Revolution if the millennials don't give up at first defeat.
Look there wasn't a breakthrough for Bernie, but we've been through quite a few states which were always going to go to Hillary. Time seems to benefit Bernie. It's because she's more of an unknown entity. There are virtually no people switching from Hillary to Bernie. There ARE people going the other way, and as we know Bernie is dominating with independents and new voters. A lot of African Americans have started to support Bernie, more than his initial weak support from Cornell West and Ben Jealous. If the polls are correct that, at worst, they are in a tie nationally, and we've been to more Hillary-loving states, then the rest of the way is going to lean Bernie. If there is any truth at all to the polls, Bernie must be leading strongly with the remaining people in the 35 states. Add to that Bernie collected - count em - $40m in February. If he can market himself as much as Hillary Clinton, it's going to favor Bernie simply because he's less known. That's a serious war chest at a critical time. The two biggest delegate baskets are in California and New York, two states with the most liberal populations. They are very close in these two states with decent time before they get there. Think about it, they are tied in NY, where Hillary was a senator and she refers to it as her second home. I think Warren is going to make the endorsement soon. Debbie Wasserman Schultz just joined the republican fight to hack down a lot of her work on consumer protection. That's sure going to give her something to think about. Surely, the pro-Hillary DNC has not taken well to Warren being one of the few females (the only one?) to not endorse Hillary in the DNC. Pure speculation on my part, but I think this will be a turning point for Warren. She'll either want to stay in with the Hillary camp, or make a move to end the Clintonian regressive era. Finally, keep in mind Obama didn't have the lead in delegates till MAY. He got a lot more super delegates than Bernie is getting, but super delegates can and do follow the tide. It just goes to show it's absurd to talk about it being over, although I agree Hillary is steadily reaching her goal so far. She has performed exactly as Bernie and his supporters have expected. I'm growing impatient with Bernie's patience, but he's showing his experience here and he is in a good position for an underdog to get a KO. Plus, Bernie is more electable. Voters are going to figure that out despite the media lying to them.
They will. I think their view is the system is unassailable and the lack of success with Bernie just proves it since his message is so clearly superior. I think they will be done with voting, at all. It's easier to just drop out and live in a sub-society until you have responsibilities and become assimilated, just like our generation did. *Ms. Warren will preserve her influence and not oppose Ms. Clinton publicly. They need each other after the election.
Bernie's doing way better than I expected with the way he talks and what he proposes. I'm happy but shocked. Trump doing the same on the other side!?!? Maybe folks are really sick and tired of the same 'ol bull**** across both sides. That makes me the happiest. People caring and trying to change things.
Sanders won 3 of 4 toss-up states. 2 of those 3 wins came in places (Colorado and Minnesota) that are very indicative of the majority of the remaining states in the race.
Bernie and Hillary is keeping the race cordial, so I can totally see a Hillary/Bernie ticket which would unify the Democratic base.
Glad you asked, son. Corporate journalism is not the journalism the Framers thought was so important. Corporate journalism has as its main goal to maximum the profit for the owners of media. As we see with NBC, ABC, CBS Fox News etc. often times they are owned by even larger corporations that are into arms manufacturing etc. In addition the throw out spin that convinces little guys to support the economic well being of the .1%. The media corp have recently been repulsed for the while, so we still have net neutrality. (google it if you don't know what that means or why it is important in terms of getting info outside the corporate media.) Net neutrality allows small bloggers and youtubers to stay in the game and somewhat compete with the corporate journalists for what facts and info go into public's minds. As an example, though not reported in certainly the larger corporate media who support Hillary over Bernie, it was reported that Bernie was finished after Nevada. Hillary won by 5% OMG!! Not corporate media widely if at all but the the internet informed folks that this was actually 950 or 965 iirc votes. Turns out the Nevada Caucuses total vote was minuscule. In addition the internet reported that Harry Reid got the casino owners in the final day or so to give their employees three hours of paid leave to go downstairs and vote which comprised almost all of the difference Well then Hillary's glorious momentum changer does not look like such a ground swell of support.
Hang in their Dubious. It is important for us oldsters to give a proper example of steadfastness to the millennials. I do think that our oligarchic overlords whose kids don't have student loans will decide that this whole student debt thing is getting the young millennial and their parents so upset that the oligarchs will throw some sort of a complex bureaucratic bone to defuse this issue. Otherwise the millennial commoners might continue political engagement and might even start demanding an end OMG some of the Reagan-Bush tax cuts for the oligarchs. Sort of what they are trying to do with health insurance. Placate the more well off of the uninsured who are most likely to raise political trouble for the private maximizing insurance corps. i.e those who can pay but had pre-existing conditions and parents who wanted their kids till 26 to access their insurance. Edit: to be fair the ACA as envisioned did want a sort of inferior and stymatizing i.e Medicaid (vs Medicare for all) insurance for the poor but their S.ct and the Repub governors blocked even this in many states.
I doubt this happens, but it would give me a glimmer of excitement for the ticket. It would also demonstrate unity, compared to most of what Americans can see in their politics.
CNN is already calling the race on the Democratic, so we know where their support lies in the election. Neither side is really over with yet. 35 states to go and the Southern states are almost done. I figured Trump would do superbly in South, while Sanders had absolutely no shot in the dirty South. Oddly enough, Sanders could easily capture the lead or break towards a tie by the end of March, especially with so many Northern and Western states on deck. There's alot of voting that needs to transpire, before we call the Democratic/Republican Races.
Speaking of media, I'm still amazed that MSNBC hired the guy that Ted Cruz FIRED for DOCTORING A VIDEO to attack Rubio. Really incredible stuff. MSNBC is done.
Echoing the message of the corporate media from day one of Sanders's campaign. Shout it out a little bit louder and it might become more valid..
He was an prosecutor for years before becoming governor. His endorsement of Trump was the biggest dick slap to the face of Rubio I have ever seen. It was absolutely brilliant. Many have tried, but all have failed to stump him. Most have wound up stumped or even schlonged for their boldness. First there was Jeb. Despite the massive amount of money spend and establishment support, Donald reduced him from former nominee apparent to a guac bowl meme. Kasich tried his hand around the same time. It got him nowhere but laughed at as Trump pointed out his colossal incompetence at Lehman Brothers. Rand Paul wound up being, in essence, dismissed as a manlet. Clinton tried to play the gender card to stump him. To others, it would have been seen as a landmine to dodge. Trump saw it for a softball to lean in to and called her out for badmouthing bills accusers. Hillary shut her mouth because she's rather not see that pinata burst open. The right wing media went after him with Glenn Beck getting chatty about Donald, but got blown the **** out on live TV. Now, Ted Cruz, who once found himself in the enviable position of likely Trump veep pick, decided he felt froggy. Trump unzipped his fly, and whipped out fourteen veiny inches of September 11th ****. A South Carolina crowd burst into a frenzy of applause for New York values. It might have been the most complete schlonging we've seen so far. Ted Cruz, in the span of about a minute went from being on the attack to applauding Trumps response. At this point, he may as well pack it in and run for prime minister of Canada next election. Hillary Clinton, herself a fan of the 911 card, even praised Trump on twitter. The whole ****ing fiasco reads like a 4chan greentext. When the left wing media went hard with the Hitler ad hominems for his comments on Muslims, instead of his popularity going down it sky rocketed as Americans see what is happening with unchecked Muslim immigration in Europe. The mainstream media thought they had him stumped, yet once again he schlonged them hard. So they switched it up and tried with the KKK/racist ad hominems, they got blown the **** out yet again. Trump won 7 of the 11 states last night and the left wing media is on suicide watch. When the Pope said building walls wasn't Christian, Trump pointed to the giant wall around the Vatican built to repel Muslim invaders, and the Vatican quickly shut up and put out a press release saying they weren't talking about Trump specifically. Literally not even God can stump him at this point. Trump is absolutely winning it right now. He is way up in the polls. When Hillary takes the DNC nomination, which she likely will since nobody wants to elect a socialist atheist like Bernie, we will see the most beautiful ****show in the history of modern US politics. Now the dems opinion is that Hillary sweeps it because he has alienated women and minority voters. They think women will rally around Hillary like black voters rallied around Obama. But that's not true, Hillary is counting on enthusiasm she doesn't have. People are expecting Obama tier turnout for her and it isn't realistic. If this email thing gets serious, a lot of independents and even some dems will stay home. Trump is going to go places that other candidates wouldn't dream of going against Hillary, and she is not at all prepared to deal with it. Look at how terribly she is handling Bernie's relatively civilized criticisms. Trump is going to air out every scrap of dirty laundry he can find on her. Stuff that's way over the line. Stuff like paying off Goldman Sachs employees in to breaking NDAs and going on record about what she said at her speeches. Digging up Bills accusers and putting them on stage. Bringing up bill and hillarys connection with Jeff Epstein. Airing out all her skeletons from the Whitewater and Watergate scandals, going to people who she paid off to keep quite and getting them on stage. A lot of people are going to eat that up. He is going to bait Hillary. Now, Hillary is better than most at not getting her jimmies rustled, but I'm willing to get that if anybody can rustle her jimmies, it is Trump. That's what he does, and he might be one of the best of all time. If it happens, and Clinton loses her cool, her likability goes down the toilet. And she has absolutely nothing on Trump she can use. Anytime she calls him a racist, he just starts pulling out the thousands of minority employees whose livelihoods he is personally responsible for and whose brown children he is putting through college. Anytime she calls him a sexist, he pulls up a huge stream of women he has put in high up senior positions in his company. Anytime she calls him a meanie head to illegal immigrants, she just makes him look more alpha and like he's protecting America. The GOP establishment will start to come around to Trump. Expect billions of dollars spent on attack adds. Expect GOP voter turnout numbers to reach all time highs. Expect record numbers of supporters coming out for rallies. Expect his numbers to continue rising every time they throw a "he's racist" ad hominem at him, his bluntness just making him look even more appealing to a nation tired of political correctness, safe spaces and constant white guilting. Expect a sweep and a Trump presidency for 8 glorious years. Expect Hillary to be immediately arrested and handcuffed personally by Trump himself once he's in office. Expect Redditors clogging the suicide watch phonelines. Expect TYT, Huffington Post and Slate to shut down from butthurt. Expect Glen Beck to blow his brains out on live TV. Expect millions of boners once Trump walks out to do his victory speech with his wife and Ivanka. Expect a frenzy of high energy sex on January 20th, 2017 as America becomes great again.
