liberals want open borders, and keep pandering the the lgbt community over blacks... black people's voices are no longer being heard, but they will be come this election, voting for trump
He's not r****ded; he's a troll. Actually, someone this dedicated to a troll account can quite possibly be an idiot.
If you aren't a troll and just misguided, one of Bernie's main talking points is how to produce more middle class jobs. By: avoiding exploitative trade agreements, circulation of more money within the US borders rather than in overseas tax dodges, developing energy innovation and new jobs that come with it and investing in US infrastructure. These are real political philosophies and plans, clearly stated and consistently supported. If you had watched the video before posting in Bernie Sanders thread, you would have been aware of the GOP exploitation of voters by the use of wedge issues over the real issues that matter, like good middle class jobs for everyone including blacks. But just think, a candidate who is devoted to the corporate bottom line has no advocacy for jobs or wages. Offshoring, exploitation of workers not covered by American laws and limiting benefits for workers yields more profit while leaning even more heavily on government assistance. If Trump ever came out for higher minimum wages, more full employment requirements or the closing of tax loopholes for corporate persons, you might approach your point. Watch the video, it's pretty short and straight forward, there's no political spin or mischaracterization. If you want to disagree with what Bernie actually says then come back.
Trump says he agrees with Bernie on trade. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/aug/10/donald-trump-bernie-sanders-knows-problem-on-trade/ so far black voters aren't too excited about either candidate.
Nahhh The elite just modify the tax code to be above it & distract us with black/white on black/white crime for the average idiot to even care or notice. #change
Actually, proactively identifying and partnering with people outside your ethnic group is more valuable to you than defining your social or political relevance through your race, particularly after the late '60s. Assuming that you can leverage any meaningful benefit to yourself or your minority race by trying to assail one group of whites and identify with another is beyond deluded.
I'd think Bernie's 50 years of being dedicated in civil rights would more than enough to get a major majority of the black vote. Then again, maybe that is just not common knowledge.
Crazy that the politician with almost no ties to corporate America in terms of campaign finance, who also is aligned with most Americans on pretty much every major issue, and has a proven track record of following through with what he says he is going to do, is also the politician that is being covered the least on the media, and only has two pages in a D&D page at a hot time in the political season. Coincidence?
As far as the corporate media is concerned it is pretty obvious they don't want to have their profits taxed to help the 99%. Also they would hate election reform as they make billions off of political ads. Some of the media conglomerates are also tied to military industrial complex and peace would cut into profits. In short the corporate media is pretty content with things the way they are for themselves and the one percent sop Bernie would not be good for their corporate interests.
I think in this forum we discuss the crazies and scoundrels (Ted Cruz, Trump, Hillary) a lot more than those that present some important ideas that can affect some improvements in society.
1) Most voters aren't that informed or educated 2) I think a lot of people see an old white guy and assume he is racist.
True, the black community should be #1 priority The less important groups need to get in line. In fact, we should institute policies that deter non-black groups from achieving financial success and give those opportunities to the black community instead.
Bernie supporters sound a lot like Ron Paul supporters in 2012. Just the establishment/corporate interests keeping him down. If only we'd listen we'd be convinced. Here's a good read (I thought) from 538. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/this-is-how-bernie-sanders-could-win/ In the end they give him 2-5% chance of getting the nomination -- (so there's a chance!). He's popular with white liberal men. But Clinton's broad support (no pun intended) and his lack of support from minorities will be his downfall. And that's before considering his national electability and that he'll have already logged 75 years on this earth by Nov 2016. (wasn't McCain old and on the verge of senility at 73?).
a) hard-core camps will show up and vote their party, so informed or educated is a nill for that bunch b) don't care camps don't vote that much, so informed or educated is a nill for that bunch c) leaning and undecided will likely vote. They are at least somewhat informed, but don't care to be that informed. Thus ads works. a) 30%? b) 30%? c) 30%? Those that can make the b) care and go out to vote win big. And once they care, I would bet most of them will lend toward D. Passion and future vision is important for the candidate for this bunch. As it turn out, I believe the bigger the overall turn out, the higher the chance D win. R, thus, have been having a strategy since 00 to suppress turnout.
Since the end of WW2, there has been a national propaganda effort to villainize anything that is not full on "capitalism". It kept a clear definition of Us and Them through the Cold War. Oddly though, the philosophy of the President, who got us out of the Depression and mobilized the war effort and the collective effort that out manufactured our enemies was decidedly Democratic Socialist. The same Cold War rhetoric also served the purpose of the capitalist to keep a lid on Unions and tax law to maximize profits. Anything about 'socialism' is discounted as bad before you even consider that it is the collective efforts of the citizens that has built this country and made it great since the days of the volunteer revolution. That's sort of the story with Mr. Sanders candidacy. Yes he is unabashedly Democratic Socialist, but once you get past the conditioned kneejerk reaction and actually listen to his ideas about the purpose of government, if you are an average American, they make good logical sense and the are morally justifiable. Just look at the joke of national political discourse versus the sober, reasonable, life effecting positions,Mr. Sanders proposes and it it should outrage you that we let ourselves be focused the trivial. It's a weird f***g thing that passes for our political process, weird.
bernie now has the lead according to the NBC poll. hypothetically, if biden joins the race does he siphon votes from hilary, bernie, or both? http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/bernie-sanders-leads-hillary-clinton-9-n-h-gains-iowa-n422111 http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/201...den-hints-possible-presidential-pitch-n423021
