Bernard King was the first player to ever come back from ACL surgery. It was considered career ending before he did it. Bernard King would also kill these players today, because the thing that made his post up game so deadly is his quick release. He would spin and his shot would be released before the defender could react. This was with hand checking being legal. If you couldn't hold him like you could years ago it would be like stealing.
With Bernard getting in,I think it opened doors for guys like mcgrady and hill. Just watching the 2,mcgrady was a better player. What helped king a lot was he played in NY and was a great college player. In the end,mcgrady might or might not get in,kinda depends on the others around him.
