I think Dfish is just traumatized he isn't wanted any longer in LA and anywhere else. Everyone has to go through that. I didn't think he ever was a talented player.... I know he hit some big shots but he was not even a second tier PG in his prime.
As far as those comments are concerned, I think he did not say other than Houston is not a contender, and he wants to be on a contender. We all know we did not want him. So I think it's easy... People don't understand how easy that is to solve. Yes we are having backup PG issues but we still don't want Fish on our team.

Hey its all fair. If they think they are in position to kick us to the curb? What about when I think the Rockets are in better position to kick them to the curb? It goes both ways. Carmelo is having a real hard time on his team he chooses. I dont remind him that he could have chosen the Rockets all the time. In the moment right now Fisher is the one without any leverage. So we kicked him to the curb. Just like Gasol was saying and Fisher was trying to say. Its nothing more than what Fisher and Gasol themselves are doing. Nothing more and nothing less. Nothing personal. Fisher is just the unwanted party now in actuality. He would let us know. I am doing the same thing.

Talk about sour grapes. It's weird how fans on this site do a 360, so fast.

Fisher is a professional and a true leader. I hope he retires as a free agent.

The consensus that I am making of all of this is that Houston had to have gotten a very favorable buyout, and their "interest" in him coming to play here was a negotiation tactic.

The reason why the buyout took so long was most likely for Fisher's camp to test the waters and see what kind of offer he can get from a contending team that has enough money to make up the amount given up by Fisher in the buyout with the Rockets.

Who knows what the team buying him out next year will be willing to pay, but you would have to assume that it would be at least 1.5mm off the book or "Dead Money" as BimaThug was referring to in an earlier post.

So will the buyout amount ever be reported?

Buyouts are typically undisclosed. Especially from a team like the Rockets. You probably will be able to figure it out next year when their cap details come out around the start of next season.

If I had to guess, I would say that it would be around the difference of what the team he will be signing him for will pay off of his salary next season. Roughly 1.5 MM at the lowest. So Les probably is eating at least 2.2MM in order to get a late first round draft pick, which is less than it would most likely cost to buy one in next years draft.

Make sense now a little bit?

This is exactly right. The only leverage that Morey had in the buyout negotiations is trying to convince Fisher that the Rockets would LUUUUUUUUV to have him spend the last year of his career sitting ignominiously at the end of the bench as a third-string point guard in a city he didn't want to be.

I have no doubt that Fisher is telling the complete truth. I'm sure the Rockets emphasized several times a day how thrilled they would be to make his life miserable if he did not renounce his player option for next year.

While this sounds reasonable and I want to believe it, we still need a point guard immediately.

    FIFY.

Can you really blame us? Nobody here liked Fisher but many of us viewed him as a guy who can give us a decent 10 minutes per game while Lowry is out, provide some veteran leadership and championship experience.

The truth is is (and now "Fisher fans" see it), nobody wants that type of leadership. He is human garbage, trash. Zero class, not a professional. He can go **** himself.

It is possible Morey knew that Fisher did not want to report, and used the option as leverage... essentially not playing his hand that the Rockets wanted him to not pick up his option.
