Lets not rush to judgement! Eddie may get off on probation, depending on the circumstances. He might even still be an asset for the Rox yet! Please don't count him out just yet!

Looks like Eddie may share the same cell with Kobe.

In such a scenario, I wonder who will be the "husband" and who the "wife"?

Don't forget, rapist are lower in the prison pecking order than felonly assualters....

The next time he becomes an asset to this team will be the first.

I have often thought that if I were to ever go and get a PhD, I'd write my dissertation on the sociology of internet communities. Reading this thread makes me think that again. What is it that makes some posters so despise Eddie Griffin?

Is that like asking why people despise Timothy McVeigh?

Point is that EG nearly killed a woman. If he weren't such a poor shooter on and off the court, he very may have killed her. Yet, you expect mercy?

Scary thing is that EG has a kid. Some role model he is for his kid.

EG is a dreg of society who was never ever ready to be successful on or off the court. It's a shame that he threw his career and life out the window for reasons we don't know.

That's a good question. Here's another. Why do so many posters not want to hold someone accountable for their own actions, such as a 6'9" man hitting a woman in the face three times? In my opinion, the only justification for such a sickening act would be if the woman were attacking him with some type of weapon. But that's just me.

    I don't despise him, I don't even know him. I just don't think he's a very good basketball player.

My money's on Eddie's attorneys to beat this. Unless there is an unbiased witness pointing the finger at him.

you guys are proving to be REAL rocket fans... you're with Eddie during the potential stage of his career and when he actually realizes some of that potential on the court. however, when it comes to supporting him in difficult times, especially when it involves personal issues, you abandon him on the spot, inquiring little into the reasons for his irate behavior.

let's make an effort to understand his situation: young, recently out of his teens, with a ridiculous amount of money and fame, and away from home for the first time (if you don't count his year at Seaton). no lets add in his background: poor, from a broken family, etc... if you do a little math, the equation can be disastrous, and most of the time it is. we all saw his basketball potential but little did we pay attention to the disastrous affects that equation might potentially produce. let's have patience, analyze the situation when we get the facts, and be supportive of the youngest member of our POTENTIAL dynasty. be a true rocket fan... be supportive of our Eddie. I'm confident that in the near future, maybe a couple of months from now, we will again be shouting Eddie ! Eddie! Let's go rockets!!!

I agree. We should support Eddie now, not as a basketball player, but as a human being.

He could go to jail. At worst, he could go to jail and end up in the same cell as Kobe, which actually might improve his game if they pass the time by playing one-on-one.

I absolutely support him as a person...I wish him well and hope that he has a good life after he deals with these problems.
I just dont believe he will be in a Rockets uni again.

I just saw the early news report with an interview withthe DA, and they did indeed wait until they had sufficent evidence to press the charges. There are in fact two charges..assault with a deadly weapon(a felony) for the alleged gun shots and assault(misdemeanor) for the alleged physical beating.

First court date will be Dec 1.

I honestly hope that the charges are not proved to be true..I really do...but I'm discouraged by the whole thing.

    Good Luck to you Eddie.

I’ll support him and hope if he’s not guilty that he’s found not guilty. But if he is guilty I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law. If he really did beat up a girl and shot at her, then he isn’t going to get any sympathy from me just because he happens to play for the Rockets.

we wanted Griffin to become more agressive and he has, so quit complaining.
