Nice. If Eddie were a good player, I'd probably be pretty pissed, but he's not, so I'm not. We've already replaced him.
I think he means Canada Houston trades: Eddie Griffin ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes) PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 15.4 minutes) Houston receives: SF Michael Curry (4.0 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 1.0 apg in 19.4 minutes) PF Chris Bosh (9.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 28.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: +9.9 ppg, +4.5 rpg, and -1.2 apg. I say lets allow this whole mess to run its course and then make judgements about Griffin. I'm no lawyer but...If it took this long to file charges against him they had better have the weapon he used with finger prints and or several eye witnesses or have him on tape. Because if not Eddie has I believe Rick Degerin or one of those top notch defense attorney representing him he has a good chance in beating this case. What worries me is that what if the rockets had found out what kind of evindence the police had on him which may have led them to not extend his contract...You never know. We are talking about million dollar contracts. Any way I hope everything works out fine and Eddie takes care of business. I mean how many other athletes get into trouble over hoz. They may not have had the same exact situation but thier have been numerous athletes that have wooped thier hoz/wives. Eddie just took it a step further. Hopefully MO Tay has a great year coming off the bench and Cato continues to play hard.
Well if Badine comes out of Europe next year with a jump shot, I truly will not miss Eddie's game. I know little of the circumstance behind the charges, but if it's anything like I've read, I feel sorry for him. The fact that his girl friend would take his kid away like that, and then demand money is just ludacris. For your son's sake, I hope you get out of this in one piece.
He does have one of the best in Houston - Rusty Hardin, I believe. The prosecutor is going to go for the kill and then back down in a plea bargain, if they have anything that will stick at all. The pot thing is so minor these days other than NBA repercussions. This other thing will probably get swept out too, he'll have his "rehab" or treatment as a good behavior thing, he'll probably get family counseling and anger management. Good luck Eddie, everyone in the world is screwed up except me and you, and know I have to worry about you...
If charges were filed immediately, wouldn't you say they obviously had a strong case because they got all the evidence they needed very easily? Anyway, I don't think the trial would focus much on the evidence anyway. I don't think there'd be much disputing that he took a couple shots at the chick when she was driving off. I'm just thinking this: they'll focus on the provocation the woman inflicted to get that reaction; they'll focus on the fact that he was suffering from depression (or whatever) and that he had since checked into a hospital and taken steps to cure what ails him. They'll say he fired some shots to scare her, but he wasn't aiming to hit her. They'll plead down, do some probation, a hefty fine, some community service. He'll have to pay the chick some settlement to get rid of the inevitable lawsuit. And, he'll get back on the court to finance the whole thing.
Yeah hopefully this will make Griff start thinkg differently and realize he needs to be hanging around people who really care for him not freak nasty hoz with bad habits or folks mooching of his bank account. Good Luck Eddie!
Illegal discharge of a firearm (or whatever the eq is) $500 fine 50 hours of CS signing autographs at Police functions or at Metro rail parties Just don't do any rails EG...
Suspended Rockets forward charged with assault Associated Press Authorities have charged suspended Rockets forward Eddie Griffin with two counts stemming from an alleged confrontation last month in which a woman said he beat her and fired a gun in her direction. Griffin, 21, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and assault with bodily injury, a misdemeanor, Houston police spokesman John Cannon said. Joann Romero accused Griffin of hitting her three times in the face and shooting at her as she drove away sometime before dawn on Oct. 25 from his home in a gated community in southwest Houston. Rusty Hardin, Griffin's attorney, was in court today and did not immediately return a telephone message from The Associated Press. Griffin was suspended from the team Oct. 16 for a series of missed practices and a skipped flight to Sacramento. Last month, Griffin voluntarily checked into a hospital to get help with unidentified problems. The filing of charges against Griffin were first reported by Houston television station KRIV. Eddie Chernoff, Romero's attorney, previously has said his client and Griffin had a romantic relationship going back at least two years and that she had been invited over on the night of the conflict. Also, Griffin has an unresolved mar1juana possession charge against him stemming from an April arrest.
Well hopefully this all will be a huge wake up call for EG ... It could have been worse and if he fired a gun at the girl it could have killed her. He is lucky and hopefully he will make it out of this with a second chance. I feel a little for Eddie as he obviously has emotional problems and needs help. Maybe this is what was meant for Eddie and he can develop a support structure in his life that will allow him to be productive in society, on or off the court. Get well Eddie, hope to see you back in the NBA someday when things are better.
Giffin will receive a ten year probated sentence with a drug screen as one of the conditions. He will square up and play again or he will later be revoked and do time. What is his current bond situation?
IF EG and William Green had switched places and had been stabbed by his baby mommy, there is no doubt EG would've pulled a scarface on her. And I guess William Green won't be marrying his fiance. Things like stabbing the one you love in the back is usually a relationship killer.
EG's life is going down the toilet. Let's just hope he isn't too stupid to not see that. It's guys like EG who make people despise the NBA. I don't think anyone in the NBA would bother to want EG. He has zero basketball potential and is obviously a shady guy. Good riddance EG, it's as if you were never here. In fact, it would have been better if you weren't here to shoot at women.
