Berkman will only accept trade if option is picked up

    Its early so im sure Berkman wont be that nuts as it gets closer to the deadline. No way in hell somebody is going to pay a declining 1st baseman that type of cash. Most likely his last season with the Stros so he might as well waive it and have a shot at a World Series. Sure would be nice if we can trade him to the Dodgers for Loney and some prospects. (Nothing wrg with dreaming)

    Well it would be conceivable if Drayton will eat some of that deal and Berkman won't demand his option be picked up. Loney's value has decreased recently because of his major league time.

    This was a no brainer on the part of the agent. Berkman understands that he will need to be productive if he wants other teams to be interested in him. I think he realizes that his days of making really big money are over.
