Hey, to all the Morey-haters : by now, you should all admit that, if anything else, he doesn't over-pay! If the next-best offer for DH is 12 CLUTCHES, and he has 20 CLUTCHES to offer, he isn't going to offer the whole thing! Maybe 14 CLUTCHES. Morey could have done what every other GM in the league would do, and reached for a player or two a while ago. It ain't in his nature. He takes his time, one piece at a time, and he don't really care about all the folks that think he should be fired, NOW! And, hey, Les is from a similar background... you think Les is going to fire him, well, they were made for each other. Les will never let Morey go, and if he did, 15 teams would call Morey tomorrow. These teams are run by ppl who know better than to think, "We're drafting #14 three years in a row, the sky is falling!"

But hey, y'all want to think that Morey is paying all the assets, plus all of your wives and children, go ahead and think that. Let's see where we are on November 1.

Orlando just went through a year and a half of the Dwight Circus, just hired a new staff, ready for a fresh start. The fact that their new GM is from OKC would suggest they want to follow the Thunder model at building a team. Besides, they're in the luxury tax with a god awful team.

Does anyone have an idea of what the Rockets do once they get Howard. Are they hoping to keep him with the max offer and hopes of signing another top free agent with the cap space or are they going to try and trade for another big name ? I find it hard to believe we can trade for 2 superstars and still have a legit team around them. At this point maybe we can guilt him into staying by telling him he won't look like a bad guy anymore of he does

I'm sure Morey has a plan, and even the worst Morey haters can't argue about his skill at obtaining quality contributors regularly.

I'm sure they can figure it out and if they pay extra tax it's not the end of the world when you can make 40 million IN A DAY

Let's see. The Lakers will not have the cap room after signing Nash, even if they trade Gasol for expiring contracts.

Clippers have already signed Griffin to a max extension, and they have CP3's max cap hold on the books the same free agent period as Howard.

The Knicks aren't going to find takers for Amare or Chandler's contract, and they are likely to keep Lin. Unless they want to dump Melo for an expiring contract package, they aren't a factor.

The Nets have 50 million dollars tied up in Deron, Joe Johnson, and Gerald Wallace. Good luck getting other teams to bend over to help you become a super team.

The Bulls would have to amnesty Boozer if they can, and unload Deng and Noah to make room.

So there you have it. The 5 teams with the largest media markets have slim at best odds of offering Howard a max deal. He's certainly not leaving 30 million on the table to play in Atlanta or a small market.

I'm sure they can't unless they find suckers for Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace. There is this thing in the NBA called the salary cap. It is in place to prevent big market teams from out spending smaller market teams. The Nets are not a threat if the Rockets can trade for Howard. The only chance they have is to trade for him themselves.

Because Orlando doesn't believe a pouting Dwight Howard helps them win enough to matter. Rockets do. They may be wrong in this belief, and that it could backfire. But at least they believe in this gamble. Orlando has already gambled year after year and failed. And they don't want to try again.

Another thing is that player attitude can change a lot with environment. This is why so many player play better or worse after a trade, as the new environment may help or hurt said player. But in Orlando, in that same poisoned atmosphere, Dwight Howard can't possibly become happier. Hence, a change of venue may help, even if it's not his preferred destination.

"I'm sure they can figure it out."

Nothing says, "I don't have a substantive basis for the things I am writing on this message board" than those words.

Seriously, I'm all for free speech and being able to say what you want, but COME ON, MAN!

If that's the best you can come up with, then please be content to read the substantive posts of others who may share your viewpoint but who are able to articulate your position a little better.

    Thank you, and good night.

I hope the trade for Dwight Howard does not happen and that we go into full rebuilding mode, which includes trading Scola and Martin for a high draft pick or picks.

If the Rockets are going to go into rebuilding mode, they should go heavy or not at all.

So we are supposed to root against our own team because we don't agree with the direction we are going ? If we even make a trade and it turns out I'll be ecstatic ...just not much faith in that at this point.

I've been a fan since 1980 and will embrace and hope for the best with anyone who put's on the uniform.

I appreciate your knowledge of the more technical aspects of the salary cap, but just because I don't spend my time studying that aspect does not mean my opinion is worthless.I have spent thousands of dollars over the years supporting this franchise so I think that has earned me the right ..

Getting Dwight won't put me back in the IN MOREY WE TRUST box.
I will say he made a good deal or bad deal
but this absolute blind loyalty thing he has had since he became GM
    That is gone forever
