Reading the title of the thread was a good belly laugh. Poor ATW is becoming more like his hero Trump every day. Sadly he might even believe it. So twisted by the Germanic guilt over the Holocaust he was raised with. I guess I should have compassion for him.

On second thought ATW would have thought Hitler one of the greatest heroes in history-- at least till the final year or two of the War.

I would say as well. You are saying with your last post I am "on his side" because I agree with @ChrisBosh that life is not so clear cut simple including this conflict (likely considered one of the most complicated conflicts in human history). Bismark also pushed nationalism and buried the seeds of extreme nationalism for Germany that resulted in World War I and World War II.

Bismark also "unified" Germany --- not sure if the author really wants to claim that Netanyahu is "unifying" Israel in the same way.

It is an interesting comparison, but I don't think they are very similar.

I struggle to find someone that is a lot like Netanyahu. People can disagree with him, but he has largely ran Israel for a long time and so far Israel is prosperous.

Netanyahu is obviously not on the same level as Genghis Khan, Tamerlane, or Qin Shi Huang, three of the greatest leaders in history. Genghis Khan united the Mongol tribes and established the largest contiguous empire, promoting trade and cultural exchange across Eurasia. Tamerlane, known for his military genius, significantly expanded his empire and contributed to the flourishing of arts and architecture in Central Asia. Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, unified the warring states, standardized weights and measures, and initiated major infrastructure projects like the Great Wall.

All three leaders are also responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of civilians through their brutal conquests.

But who knows, Netanyahu might one day be seen among the greats.
