I'll answer for her. The state department was not run via email alone. Stevens had access via other direct means. Wait, that was Hillary's answer. Did you watch the proceedings?
Correct, I'm shocked that they are acting as if they don't know how the State Department is run. She was the Secretary of State if anything ever goes wrong or she needs to be contacted trust she will be contacted. They either are stupid or pretending to be stupid in order to piss her off and it didn't work.
This hearing has really backfired on the GOP and has definitely helped Clinton. It's not quite the level of the Joe McCarthy "Have you no decency" but it's not that far off regarding Congressional committees blowing up in the face of the accuser. Rep Gowdy and the rest of the GOP members of the committee just handed the Clinton campaign and the DNC the type of Capital Hill drama that is made for movies.
Unless you are a Hillary campaign staffer, yes. This was an enormous waste of our tax dollars, with so many more important issues left untended. Maybe instead of usurping the gears of government to attack a presidential candidate, they would be better served in trying to find and support a legitimate candidate of their own.
This is a very partisan response from you. You're more interested in protecting your liberal candidate rather than doing what's right for Ambassador Stevens and future ambassadors' safety.
I kind of figured this hearing was a disaster for the GOP since my facebook news feed is suspiciously empty of "Hillary should be in prison" memes yesterday and this morning.
So, what conclusions on State department security have we reached? Maybe that Congress should not have cut back on funding?
What about the almost 3,000 Americans killed because of the inaction the Bush administration weeks before 9/11/2001? How many hearings over that? Texxx, you and everyone here knows you couldn't give two ****s about the 4 lives lost in Benghazi. This has nothing to do with honoring those lives. **** you for pretending it does. That is disgusting.
"Mrs. Clinton, were you and Ambassador Stevens Facebook friends? Did you follow Ambassador Stevens on Twitter?"
BTW, if anyone actually believes that these hearings are to 'honor' the 4 who died in Benghaz, they are either being disingenuous or are naive as ****.
Conservatives rail on the stupidity of the hearings: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...nservative-reactions_56297705e4b0aac0b8fc628b Bryon York Washington Examiner columnist Byron York, disappointed the hearing had been "billed as an epic, High Noon-style confrontation," concluded the day was "a bust." "In other words, no big deal. And that is very, very good news for Hillary Clinton," York wrote. Erick Erickson Right-wing radio host Erick Erickson wrote that the hearing "was all a political spectacle" and "a waste of time." "God bless Trey Gowdy for trying to learn the facts and understand what happened. But the rest of it was just a carnival road show of back bench congresscritters playing to the cameras and Hillary Clinton working hard to play persecuted victim," Erickson wrote. John Podhoretz @jpodhoretz Were you and Chris Stevens Facebook friends? Did you follow him on Instagram? Were you and Chris Stevens Facebook friends? Did you follow him on Instagram? Stephen Hayes @stephenfhayes Pompeo's second round of questioning was snarky in tone and ineffective in substance. A net negative.
I think what these hearings have shown us... is that once again Elijah Cummings is a bad ass. He verbally spanked the committee and did a damn good job of doing it. Outside of showing us that Cummings may be the best member of congress there is, they wasted a huge amount of tax payer money, and were a disgrace to our nation's system of government.
Look if nothing else vote to maintain a balance of power between the Congress and The Executive. It's a healthy centrist position. You need a D in the top spot in case the Freedom Caucus votes in more stupid laws that need vetoing. We also don't need any more "Citizen's United" Supreme Court judges. We are bordering on corporate government now.
To reference a famous TV character: BigTexxx, could you BE any more fuller of ****? You twats tried so hard to make this about WAY more than any of the other attacks on other embassies- not to mention completely disregarding any culpability whatsoever for Mr. Bush regarding 9/11. For once in your life, could you please be man enough to admit your bias? To admit that the most important thing to you is not right or wrong, but justifying your political ideology. I swear, people have become bigger and bigger babies as the internet and social media have grown exponentially. More important to be justified than be right. Hilarious how hard the Republicans try to find their Watergate on the other side and, time and time again, they get Benghazied in their attempts.
