I think Rice is just bad for the team period. I don't like him taking his little ball distribution whining to the press instead of handling it behind closed doors. This is the exact same crying he did in LA, and NY before becoming a Rocket. His shooting hasn't been any better than Walt Williams when he was here. Rice doesn't have much room to talk even behind closed doors in a professional manner, let alone his spoiled cry-baby method of going to the press.

I would love to start Posey instead of Rice. I would love to cut Rice outright.

I know there have been a couple of times that he's hit some big shots or had decent shooting games, but not enough to warrant his whining and unprofessionalism.

How exactly is Glen Rice better suited for this offense? If a whiny, washed-up, injury-prone guy is well suited for this offense, then we've got some serious problems. Remember, Rice gets paid abou $9.5 million this year. I'd rather have Air Bullard at $300K per year. They're basically the exact same player at this point.

Rice and Posey have the same 3pt % this year: 35%. Except Posey isn't a one-dimensional bum like Rice.

They may have the same percentage but I would bet on Rice hitting on more in the long run. Rice also has taken more I believe. I like Posey a lot more but let's face it, the Rockets offense isn't exactly the triangle, all the 3 is asked to do is shoot the trey.

Given the lesson Phil Jackson learned, I don't think Rudy T. dare to start another Ms. RICE drama:rolleyes:

Rice used to be that guy, but he isn't that guy anymore. He's shooting under 35%, and he gets all kinds of wide-ass open shots from three. He's a little better than Posey shooting three's, but he doesn't bring anything else to the table, while Posey brings excellent defense, rebounding and athleticism.

If Rice were still a great shooter, maybe you could make that arguement, but he just isn't.

id like to see posey stay in the rotation, but it wont happen. there is that unwritten rule that a player never looses their starting job due to injury (unless you are mo taylor). rudy is a loyal guy, and i dont think that he would do that to rice.
dont get me wrong, id rather have posey, but rudy t aint gonna do rice like that.

    Dont worry guys.

I dont think Rice will back soon enough. Even 4-6 weeks should be long enough for Posey to prove his worth. if he is delivering, Rice will be slowly brought back into the line. If Posey doesn't, which I dont think will happen, then we will be back to get Rice back.

Of course I still expect to see Boki on the pine, next to MR Pine.

    But......

Is there any unwritten rule that a player never looses their starting job due to personal reasons (such as attending family member's funeral?).

I am just being annoying. :D
