Circling back to this: I'm not sure my response was even really to your OP, just the concept that whenever something goes wrong for a while, fans look for the quickest/easiest person to blame. It's a lot easier to fire coaches than trade players. I've seen it too much in baseball where (much like basketball) all of their work with players is done behind the scenes, out of any fan's purview (and frankly, knowledge), but the first thing you hear is "fire the hitting/pitching coach" I haven't read back through the whole thread, but if we got off on the wrong foot it's my fault and I apologize.
