I’m changing my opinion on Simmons. I’m actually glad he doesn’t shoot threes and is an incredible passer. Might make this team really fun to watch. Sign me up.
Last season was top 25 in most basketball ref impact metrics. Certainly a far cry from Harden who is consistently top 5, but nothing to sneeze at. Top 3 in wide open 3 pointers created. One of the most versatile defenders in the league. Despite having a worse jumpshot than Westbrook has the IQ to score with elite efficiency by having shot discipline. Focusing too much on his jump shooting ability is shortsighted in evaluating a player whose other attributes are so strong and who actively avoids taking poor efficiency shots.
Sure make fun of Ben Simmons, it won't be funny when he plays for the Rockets. His Playoff Underperformance will be very embarrassing to watch.
After watching the passing video I am willing to hope Simmons can improve his shooting to close to average and along with rebounding and defense you are talking MVP material. Forget about Herro if we have to trade Harden.
