The rumour I saw was a trade to the Spurs Simmons to the Spurs Murray, Vassell, McDermott to the 76ers. The Spurs would be over the moon if that happened. I cannot see why the 76ers would contemplate that? Maxey, Milton, Korkmaz offer essentially the same thing as the 3 players from the Spurs, why add another version of each of them??
Which one of those guys on the 76ers offers what Dejountae does? He’s putting up 19 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2 spg and 8.5 apg to only 2.5 TO per game. That’s bordering elite territory in terms of ball handling/protection. He’s also shooting an efficient 45 % from the field and he’s right around the league avg percentage wise from 3. He’s also one of the best PG defenders as well. Kid is a stud and only getting better. Ben Simmons best year was his second or 3rd year when he put up 17 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 7.7 apg with 3.5 turnovers. We all know his shortcomings when it comes to shooting outside of 10ft and from the FT line. I’d rather build around Murray than Simmons. He’s more well rounded has no glaring weaknesses like Ben. I don’t think Ben’s defense makes up for all his other shortcomings compared to Murray whose a great defender himself. Factor in their contracts Murray costs less than half of what Simmons costs. Now add last years #11 pick whose showing signs of being a lottery pick and a 44% from 3 sharpshooter while shedding an extra year of paying Simmons? Me thinks it’s Morey and the 76ers that would be over the moon.
The Sixers want a player on the ‘Damian Lillard/Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tier?’ Lol, I don’t think those two guys are on the same tier. That’s like saying they want someone on the ‘Anthony Davis/Jerami Grant’ tier.
Yea weird phrasing, but I took it to meant they either want a guard who is very established or is young and good. I don't see why OKC would want Simmons and start competing at their juncture, but if I was Morey I would target Zac LaVine. Are the Bulls going to max LaVine with that many guards under contract?
https://theathletic.com/3011544/202...alks-and-more-nba-news-and-notes-inside-pass/ The 76ers are ramping up their efforts to spark multi-team trade scenarios to move Simmons, sources said, and a fresh pool of teams has emerged as potential destinations. The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers are among the teams interested in Simmons, sources said, although it’s unclear how much traction Philadelphia truly has on any move. Simmons has yet to play this season after reporting late to the 76ers’ training camp and informing teammates, coaches and front-office officials that he is not mentally ready to rejoin the team on the floor and needs to receive help. Simmons has sought help from a personal mental health specialist and gave the 76ers’ team therapist permission to speak with his own therapist, sources said. But it’s clear 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey has his eyes set on a potential trade scenario to ship Simmons out of Philadelphia — whenever a rival team can meet his asking price. The 76ers are currently asking teams for an All-Star-caliber player and/or multiple first-round draft picks for Simmons, sources said.
