That may not last, Embiid sat last game. Morey talks like he is in no hurry, but reality is they don't want to go to the playoffs with their current roster, and that's assuming Embiid stays healthy the whole the season and gets them a good seed. I think Philly fans should brace themselves for what Simmons will get them. It was long ago that Morey was in charge of trading a point guard with a broken jumper for the Rockets. CFans was whispering about getting Charlotte's #3 pick or maybe NY's lottery pick. We ended up getting one of the few worse contracts in the league in John Wall. Luckily we got half a Sengun as well.

They beat Portland without Embiid last night. Granted, Portland isn't an elite team. But they are surprisingly resilient with all the Simmons drama. Embiid is their ticket to the championship. If there was a scouting report on Daryl Morey, under strengths it would read — “uncanny ability to never get blamed for creating disasters.” Morey has a long history of pouring gasoline on volatile situations and then being able to get away scot-free despite the evidence pointing to him as the culprit.
