Pacers reported offer of Brogdon and a 1st round pick (which Sixers turned down a few weeks ago ) was a decent offer. Personally I'd rather have Brogdon than CJ, but Philly is obviously looking for more.
I don't think Cleveland is going to get Simmons unless they are packaging the #3, one of the Sex-Land boys and then some. Klutch Sports is most likely done with Cleveland. Kings...man..Kings are gonna Kings I suppose.
Kings will probably offer have to offer Hield and/or Haliburton w/ filler, which may not be enough for Philly. T-Wolves and Raptors have the strongest package to offer. A star with a possible pick. T-Wolves (Russell, Edwards, Beasley, and a future pick) / Raptors (Lowry, Siakam, Van Vleet, and a lottery pick). Philly probably not going for Wiggins as a centerpiece in a deal unless a lottery pick (s) (for this year/future season).
To be fair, they were NEVER offered Harden. Philly offered Simmons and fillers with maybe 2 picks. Houston said no way. We wanted 7+ picks/swaps. I prefer the 2 pick and KPJ over anything Philly could have given - neither of those would have come our way.
Simmons has negative value- he does not get Philly a young star and a FRP. Simmons is also not a good dude and he doesn't care enough to work to improve. I live in Philly and Simmons is loathed and despised here- everyone wants him gone. The Sixers have a big problem on their hands- people won't buy tickets if he is still on the team.
Morey trying to close a deal lets see what he gets I'm guessing that FRP is trash, like top 20 protected or w/e.
If Toronto is actually interested in Simmons, I can see that move. I believe the Raptors have cap space (depending on what happens with Kyle Lowry); and that #4 pick can grease the way. Add other ingredients here and there to the stew...yeah, it would make sense. Again: Daryl Morey hedged his words this time after the "we are 100% NOT trading Chris Paul" but when he is in charge of your roster, rent, don't buy.
Is that really true? I know Philly fans are crazy, but crazy enough to stop going to games? Just curious. Afterall, the Sixers will still be competitive if Simmons sticks around, they just won't go any further than the 2nd round.
It's what I'm told by everyone at work and at the bar I frequent. Honestly, the antipathy towards him is so strong it makes me blush.
https://www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-...en-simmons-offers-damian-lillard-deaaron-fox/ Philadelphia's position on trading No. 28 is not contingent or related to the big ongoing discussion around Ben Simmons, whose future remains up in the air for the time being. The Sixers have continued to put a high sticker price on Simmons and are under no pressure or rush to deal him if the right opportunity doesn't present itself, according to sources familiar with the situation. Philadelphia's messaging has remained consistent when other teams have reached out in search of a potential deal. They are not coming to the table at all if the offer doesn't reflect his status as an ultra-productive, multiple-time All-Star, and the team believes internally they can fix at least some of his on-court issues in the event that he remains a core piece. The team maintains that they are working from a position of strength in spite of Simmons' flameout in the second round. Internally, team sources view a lot of the reported offers floated around the league as transparent attempts to lower Simmons' trade value below where it actually is. The Sixers are uninterested in packages returning multiple role players and picks in exchange for Simmons, according to a source familiar with the situation. As one specific example, a source told PhillyVoice the Sixers would not even entertain a discussion with the Sacramento Kings save for the inclusion of guard De'Aaron Fox in a potential deal, which they view simply as a starting point for talks. The Sixers continue to plot out different paths and discuss various scenarios centered around building a contender around center Joel Embiid in the short to medium term, and the team is prepared to continue tinkering around the Embiid/Simmons partnership if that emerges as their best path forward. Trade discussions for a big fish might be on pause for a little bit — Damian Lillard being in Tokyo for the Olympics is a complicating factor expected to slow any immediate conversations about his future with Portland. But Philadelphia will continue to work the phones around the league in search of improvements big and small leading into the draft and beyond.
That’s not a bad deal.. for philly it kinda sucks cuz they could’ve maybe had harden instead but got cheap.. Great deal for raptors. Doubt they declined that deal.
