Hes really not a leadoff type hitter. More of a power guy with good speed.

Hes batted #2 this year for KC. I would suspect he would be there for us.

    Bidge
    Beltran
    Berkman
    Kent
    Bagwell
    Ensberg
    Everett
    Ausmus

in a perfect world, id like to see:

    Bidge
    Beltran
    Kent
    Berkman
    Bags
    Lamb
    Everett
    Ausmus

    Sign Pettitte
    Sign Clemens
    Dump Hidalgo's contract
    Trade for Beltran

So I guess this means we may get our first look at Lidge as the closer tonight, if they can score some runs for Clemens.

Do they typically wait to inform the players if this really went down during the game? I mean, I'm sure the guys would know something if the get to the 9th with a 1 run lead and Lidge goes out there. I guess I could see it as either a mid-game distraction or a way to light a fire.

I've seen both Buck and Giminez at AA. Buck is nowhere near the catcher that Giminez is. Giminez is quick around the plate and has a gun to second base. He won't be the power hitter that Buck will be, but he'll hit as good, if not better, than Ausmus. His defensive skills remind me of Santiago when he first came into the league.

    Speaking of money...

Is this another Randy Johnson move or do the Astros intend on resigning Beltran? Did they rent a player again or do they mean business beyond this year?

I think it's more of the Randy Johnson trade variety. Unless the Astros win it all and convince Beltran to sign for less money. Yankees and Red Sox will probably both pursue him this offseason, pricing him out of our range.

Sorry dudes, I apologize. It's just that I'm freaking out. Too much stuff going down at the same time for me to handle, I guess.

I did, but I think there's a difference when you have the pressure of knowing you're going to be "the man" vs. a spot job because Dotel was unavailable. Since closing seems to be very much about a pitcher's mentality.

for the record, I think Lidge will be fine.

I will miss Dotel. He was one of the best relievers in baseball over the last 4 years. Good luck, Dotel!

Losing Buck hurts big time......if Beltran does not resign, then I don't like this deal.
