Before we ever got JVG, I really wanted George Karl to come here. Popovich too. Instead we are stuck with JVG and his plodding defensive sets and his slow offense. At the very least, JVG should allow his players in the half court set to play with a little freedom.

Francis left the Rockets and regained his high scoring ways with Orlando. I'm telling you. Player after player after player have gone elsewhere and flourished. Nachbar, Francis, James, Lue..the list goes on. Jeff Van Gundy does not know how to use players and his rotation sucks. He makes great players average and talented role player scrubs. Van Gundy doesn't know how to put fresh players in the game at the right times.

You want to know why we got blown out by Dallas in 2005? Cause Avery adjusted and Van Gundy stuck to his dinosaur ways. Want to know why we got beat by Utah? Cause Sloan decided to knock Yao around and contest everything T-Mac threw up by bodying him up. Refs didn't call anything. Ok, well if Sloan is clogging up the lane, then you bring T-Mac and Yao out as decoys and run backdoor cuts. Which is exactly what the Rockets were doing for a short time. What happened? We stopped and again forced the ball into the lane with Yao or tried to drive T-Mac into the lane. Again, this is back to strategy. Why did we stop doing what was successful? Tell ya what, strategy has not that much to do with players. They just execute.

    Strategy is on the coach.

JVG didn't give Bonzi enough PT. As lazy as that fat sob (Wells) was he would've been the difference maker in this series. I know some of the blame has to go to Bonzi but JVG really did not give Wells a fair chance. Therefore, JVG does indeed suck.

Another player that can post up. Check

Another player that can create his own shot. Check

Another legit 3rd scoring option. Check

Another player that can hit the 3. Check

Another player that can hustle, be physical and grab boards. Check

Another player that would've forced Fisher and Harpring to guard.... freeing up Tmac to continue to abuse Kirilenko. Check

The list goes on and on...

Wells was seriously everything we needed against Utah and MORE. Ughhhhh

Agreed and now with all that being said about JVG, I will now go on to role players. In this grind it out style of play, whoever wins the rebounding war basically wins the game. In this game, Utah outrebounded Houston 40 to 33. Yao needed to get more rebounds and Juwan Howard needed to step it up big time. Howard was basically useless offensively and Hayes only had 2 rebounds. The blame isn't all on Van Gundy because and some of it has to go to the role players. Alston was 3-11 shooting. Luther Head for this entire series has been useless. So there is some validity to the fact that our role players just aren't getting the job done. That being said, I still think under a different offensive scheme, we could have had better production.

V-Span plays for JVG and it didn't stop him from being candid.

That's because unlike Yao, T-Mac and Battier, he doesn't get to play.

JVG sucks. It is wasting time to say it again. I will not follow the Rox too much if he will be back next year. There is no much hope for the winning.

That is STILL JVG's fault cause he kept playing them....

Deke got in for 3 minutes and got 3 boards and 3 pts. Considering how Yao and Hayes were doing in boards and especially Yao's shooting slump midway WHY didn't JVG play Deke a little bit more? Just 10 mins could have done it..

Also, if head and alston are doing that bad, surely other people deserved a shot... And yes, they were unproven cause they didnt get that many minutes during the season but again, WHOSE fault is that? and Kirk had minutes in the regular season. He should ve been there midway through the 4th to take advantage of the penalty with his driving..

True and it didn't stop V-Span from being right, either.

I mean V-Span was critical of JVG asking him to be a spot up shooter instead of a creator which is the primary symptom of Gunidyitis.......got to play Gundy ball or sit the bench.

Play the system...and only the system, or suffer the consequences....never mind that your skillset may not match the system........

With JVG as coach, twice we have been up 2-0 in a playoff series and twice we managed to lose the series. Totally inexcusable.
