And as long as the Rocks continue to win (and they aren't even playing that well), we won't be seeing EDC responding on this thread.

Too bad we can't win every game from here on out.

BTW...any ideas how bad of a coaching job Gundy did this game? I mean...even a MORON can bench Alston for Head at the right time and allow for Head to be clutch down the stretch of this game. I mean...this is only a minor BLIP on how many horrible, horrible coaching moves Gundy makes, right?

    But whatever.

He is a rooki killer. No rooki can develop under his coach. He never trust them.

    JVG sucks

Why should he trust those 2nd round rookies over established veterans? Rookie killer? When was the last time he killed any phenomenal rookies like LBJ, Wade, or Bosh? Or you guys watched practice and decided that those rookies played much better than veterans? Why should any rookie without any establishment obtain the luxury to be developed in meaningful minutes at games, when Rockets is obviously pushing for success NOW? Remember why we got Battier?

Two things JVG need to achieve to earn an extension contract:

    1. Home court advantage

    2. Western conference final

Assuming Yao keeps playing like a MVP the rest of the season, if JVG still can't do these two things, then he will never lead this team to championship.

As some pointed out - I think JVG deserves a lot of credit for Yao's development. Without JVG - Yao would never be where he is today.

Good rookies enhance our depth. Near the end of the regular season and especially deep into the playoffs (hopefully), the wear and tear on the veterans and/or the starters will fully expose JVG's short-sightedness in building this team. JVG's unwillingness to play rookies for meaningful minutes will contribute to his own demise in the long run, assuming his eagerness to please Les and Morey on a contract year succeeds and he gets himself an extension.

Thank God we have never had any rookies contribute to championship teams.

Sam Cassell - cough - cough...

Yeah, I can't believe what Jeff Van Gundy has done to Luther Head. I mean he has completely hindered his developmental process. Last year Luther was a promising young talent, but now he has regressed so far under JVG's guidance that he has been reduced to a player that only averages the 5th most minutes on the team. Can you believe that?

    FYI,

    YOU SUCK!

Luther wouldn't be where he's at this year if not for his time last year. And the reason JVG used Luther last year was he had no other choice.

Don't get me wrong. This is no JVG bash. He gets some of the credit for Yao's development. (See all past posts on the topic). However I don't like they way JVG seems to not give rookies a chance.

Then what does a trend of 3 wins imply... 50% longer than your 2-loss trend!

Exactly. Epsecially some of the veterans are actually hurting the team while they are playing. I mean Novak could do everything Padgett coud, at the same time he can't play defense any worse than him. So why does Padgett get the minutes?

IMO, It is still early in the season, a perfect time to play Rookies some minutes. With the season goes on, if they can play, give them more minutes, if they suck, you can put them in the doghouse anytime. But those guys deserve a chance.

So if we win, it's because of Yao. But if we lose, it's because of JVG.

    OK....

sounds about right, but I blame all loses on Steve Francis, some habits are hard to break.

Yeah, what a terrible coach. Why can't he realize you have to sacrifice a few wins to develop your rookies? Win win win, defense defense defense, we're sick and tired of it! Having the league's best defense and point differential is not important, winning key games is not important. We must develop our rookies!

    Grr. Idiots.

Pretty much so. It is the NBA, if you have super stars like Yao and T-Mac, and you still can't succeed, coach is always first to blame. Sorry.
