They need to learn from the Americans in Compton, CA.
they found a medium to channel their stories and feelings through music and thus told America and the world their story about what they felt about the police, the dope man, and how to express yourself.

Im droppin flavour, my behaviour is hereditary,
And my technique is very necessary,
Blame it on Ice Cube, because he said It get funky!
When you got a subject and a predicate
Add it on a dope beat, and it'll make ya think,
Some suckers just tickle me pink, to my stomach,
Cause they don't flow like this one,
You know what, I won't hesitate to dis one or two before i'm through,
So don't try to sing this,
Some drop science, well i'm droppin english!

23 pages and almost 450 posts.

It seems the only consensus is that whoever believes this ridiculous story is dumb. :)

The notion that PRC is intentionally keeping its currency low against the dollar is a myth, eh, scratch that, it's a joke. U.S. Treasury Department finds that China does not meet the technical requirements of a country that is manipulating its currency to gain unfair trade advantages. As noted by CATO Institute, during the period of 1995-2005, adjusting for inflation in China and the U.S., the real value of the yuan has depreciated by only 2.4%. IMF also concluded that "it is difficult to find persuasive evidence that the renminbi [yuan] is substantially undervalued." Since 2005, the inflation of Yuan has outpaced that of Dollar by a great margin due to overheated economy, However, Yuan has risen almost 20% against Dollar, suggesting PRC has given in a lot more than it should have.

As long as American's appetite for low-priced foreign goods doesn't dwindle, U.S. trade deficit isn't likely to decrease any time soon. Even if China could artificially raises the value of its currency against Dollar substantially more, U.S. demand for cheap imports will simply shift to other countries. We've seen in the 1980s and early 1990s blaming on Japan for U.S. trade deficit simply doesn't work. Your blame-everything-on-China argument likewise makes absolutely zero sense, so stop talking from your arse.

Nasty language is specifically reserved for idiotic posts from guys such as yourself. Remember respect is earned.

The easiest and best way to find it out is to go there and experience yourself. Go to Beijing, wearing a white T-shirt and standing in the rain, you will have your first hand strong evidence. Meanwhile, you can also find out about that mysterious government policy. You can ask any cab driver to take you to Sanlitun, try a handful bars to see whether you are actually banned, during different time of the day.

My cabdriver had no clue where it was, I had to actually navigate for him using my map - there's a giant 10 foot tall statue of a beer mug, it shouldn't be so tough...he dropped me off somwhere close and I had to wander around for like a half hour before I vaguely stumbled into it.

ROFLMAO, judoka, do you really feel the need to answer the above?

On the other hand, don't dodge the core of the argument. Do you think by posting the same Obama cartoon (hypothetically), basso and pgabriel have the same motivation and intend to elicit same reaction?

What you see is glass half full is glass half empty to me. You say MadMax posted that ecard to illustrate how ridiculous China is portrayed in Western media. I say that's bull. MadMax's post history on China doesn't indicate he is that type of person to challenge media's negative bias towards China. Given that this thread where China is the easy target, I don't see how MadMax would stick his neck out for China. I've never seen him do that, rather, the opposite is true. Maybe there were some posts he wrote in the past that I weren't aware of, hence I'd love to be proved wrong. But I won't hold my breath.

Totally possible, and it depends on the quality of your beret. And yes, there are many second hand stores there. If you go to some antique stores, you may find some real US berets form WWII.

Chinese go abroad to buy diamonds with much better price, it's cheaper even in HK.

As for pearls, depends on the quality, you can find some super cheap ones in lots of small shops.

Are they gonna release Doves at the opening ceremony? Doves are a symbol of peace. they are usually happy birds but its rare to glimpse of them when doves sing or when doves cry.

a myth? Most analysts say the yuan is undervalued - some by as much as nearly 60%. If that's not the case, why don't China let it's currency float and let the markets decide?

You know why? because the yuan would appreciate. China keeps the Yuan low by holding massive reserves of foreign currency - thus pushing down our interest rates (good for us). But because of that artificial lowering, your inflation rate gets boosted, which is what you see.

At the end of the day, the monetary policy will hurt China in the long run - it's not sustainable and forces China to be completely dependent on her exports. But at the sacrafice of domestic industry because of course high level of inflation. Plus, because China has to hold so much reserves (a trillion dollars) - all that money can't be put to building things like infrastructure or schools that would provide even stronger long-term growth.

As for respect - I use a respectful tone in speaking to you, because everyone deserves that. Heck, a dog deserves that. But don't get confused, that doesn't mean I respect you.
