Its called straight ticket voting. I'd bet all my eggs that you do the same. Many many Americans do the same. Quit acting like you are any different. There is a term for that ... hypocrisy.

Oh, and have you heard of that guy called Alvin Greene? Case in point.

But you are exactly right. Straight ticket voting is exactly whats wrong with this country. Thanks, mcmark, for screwing up this country.

You do understand that both in tallanvor's case with Governor Brewer in the GOP primary, and in the case of Alvin Greene in the Dem Senate primary, you can't vote straight ticket in a primary, right?

Or stupidity, in the case of your trying to randomly connect this to straight ticket voting.

I have voted for Bloomberg every time he has run, I voted for Giuliani, Pataki and Reagan. I have never voted straight party ticket in my life.

    I accept your apology.

I don't see the problem with straight ticket voting that others on this thread seem to. Republicans and Democrats are not the same. How many Republicans voted for the heath bill? I would say right now, no matter how what Republican I vote for I am guaranteed they will support repealing the health care bill and desire to reduce deficits, which is what I want. So it would behoove me to vote for whatever Republican has the best chance of beating a Democrat, even If I do disagree with that Republican on other issues (for Brewer it was her increase on the sales tax).

Wouldn't you say this is more true for the Democrats? Didn't almost everything single one vote for the health care bill despite the fact that Americans didn't want it overwhelmingly?

I suggest you check your history. Republicans do not desire to reduce deficits unless they are out of power.

Son the only reason the healthcare bill was so strongly opposed is because it didn't go far enough and not have a public option or restrict the health insurance industry enough.

70% of Americans wanted a public option.

But anyway, that's for another thread. This is about the crazy Gov in AZ that just said Mexcans were beheading’ Mericans just to get elected. You are going to vote for a person like that. A person that would lie to your face about something as horrible as that.

    Think about that

Yes, a lot of Democrats voted for the health care bill.

But every single Republican voted against it. Every single Republican voted against the stimulus. Every single Republican has been against anything Obama has been in favor of, even if they used to support it.

    That's a lockstep mindset.

Can you please back up this statement with trustworthy polling data. Please use polls with an acceptable margin of error. Good luck.

This is why I always chuckle when a right-winger Republican calls liberals "sheeple."

Or when they complain about media bias while they watch Fox News.

Blissful ignorance or purposeful hypocrisy... either way, it's funny.

It was a bad moment for her. But yes I would still vote for her over her Democrat opponent. I have never put much stock in those "Got You" moments for politicians. A bunch come to mind from those town hall debates. When someone has a camera in their face and are speaking to the public they are bound to misrepresent themselves (I hope this is the case) or say something dumb. I would say those town hall meetings would be more likely to induce this type of mistake since the crowds were screaming mad unlike Brewer's situation. I would hope she would come out in the next few days and say something along the lines of "I got flustered, and panicked, and said something untrue/stupid". Even if she didn't, I put much more stoke in her actions as Governor then some public speaking mistake.

Maybe she wants to do it on her own terms. Maybe she hasn't figured out what she wants to say.

So according to your link... if you lined up 10 Americans:

5.16 out of 10 would say they disapprove.
3.86 out of 10 would say they approve.
.98 out of 10 would approve.

This is NOT an overwhelming majority.

Maybe not. Overwhelming is a judgment call. 14 points down is high for politics though.
