Not trying to burst nobody's bubble here but arent teams that run alot usually tired towards the second half of the season.
There could be a problem. Teams who have been caught off-guard earlier in the year by the Rockets no longer are. Other teams have scouted the Rockets and have better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each player and the overall game plan. The Rockets in turn will need to adjust their game and game plan to this. Just sitting back and say it's fine to lose now because they started the season well is complacency, IMO.
Didn't see the game only got to listen in portions throughout the game but seems to me that the Rox had control of this bad boy till the 4th qtr. Tough loss but all these road losses have been close games so the world shouldn't be falling apart. I am a little worried the team is falling into a little bit of dead spot in the season maybe a bit of a spark is needed, Dorsey may be the one to give them one or someone not on this squad. Good thing we have a nice set of games at home and can clean up the rest of Jan.
There are definitely some problems. This team is having major problems holding it together in the second half, esp. 4th quarter. These are not something to overlook because they lose a few on the road. They need to find a way to win these close games.
Only a "road skip"? Losing four in a row on the road, especially to good teams, the kind you have to beat in the playoffs, is cause for concern. The Rockets have a magical way of being able to lose on the road only after building a double-digit lead. It happened in every game (except maybe the Laker game; can't remember just now how much their largest lead was) during this losing streak. The New Orleans loss was the most disgusting choke; no, blowing the 16-point lead in Phoenix was worse; no, this loss to a mediocre Eastern Conference team is the most painful. It's just so hard to single out one of these abject losses as the suckiest. Choking and dying after leading by 11 or 13 or 16 in the second half is a major cause for concern. However, if we deal T-Mac and Yao and use that $40 mil for some star talent, we'll easily win 60 next year. In fact, if we just get a lottery pick and deal T-Mac/Yao, we'll win 64 games and murder LA en route to our third title. Seriously, guys. It's not time to panic. Our team sucks this year, but we'll be a title contender in the next one to two years. In Morey we trust.
we stop moving the ball, it's obvious, when the ball stops moving we start losing, we lost our lead as soon as trevor started going one on one, and nobody was able to make any sort of pass. solution: continue to practice and improve chemistry, and remember what wins games, driving strong, we can't get too comfortable shooting 3s and jumpers, drive hard and finish strong our starting like could use a shift though, we just can't get enough offense out of them, i think we should switch line ups depending on who we play, chuck for strong centers and landry for others.
I disagree, we have a lot of young talent that could go on to be all-star caliber players. We actually have a great team we just need the last piece. We have that piece in Yao. We are good at the PG spot, we have a scoring pg and a defensive pg We are good at the SF spot, we have Ariza, Battier and Budinger. Some teams don't have one good wing defender, we have TWO. Budinger is another young talent we have that could easily develop into a solid player. We are good at the PF spot, we have "Double-Double" Scola and 6th MOY candidate in Landry. Our center this year is weak, we have a solid defender in Hayes and height and range with Andersen. the only thing I believe we need to focus on for this year and the future is a SG, we can play Aaron and Trevor at the 2, but Trevor has proven that he isn't currently capable of creating for himself and his teammates off the dribble. I would have really liked a Von signing to take of this spot, but I doubt that will happen. anyways I hope you see how fortunate we are to have this current team, it isn't easy to win in the NBA, it's impossible to win without talent, we have it, appreciate it
Sometimes its better to match yourself up against a team you can beat, rather than just get the best available seed possible. For example, I would kill to play the Blazers again in the playoffs. We beat them ALL the time.
What the f**k is everybody talking about? Making the playoffs would be gravy this year, and there would be no expectation that we would win anything. I had my knee-jerk reaction when I heard Yao would be out for the season. And that reaction was "wait 'till next year", and I stand by that. This season is all about Brooks, Lowry, Ariza, Budinger, and Landry getting a chance to step-up, and 4 out of 5 ain't bad at all.
DONT WORRY!!! WERE GETTING CLOSER TO 9TH SPOT!! IM SO PROUD!! RED NATION IT IS!! MOREY FOR GM OF THE YEAR AND ADELMAN FOR COACH OF THE DECADE!! I LOVE THIS TEAM'S PASSION AND HEART!!!
