One thing that I didn't see anyone mention is that by wearing pads, it's giving the tackler a weapon as they make the tackle. It's easier to give a bigger hit when the tackler is wearing a hard helmet and pads to hit harder and reduce the chance of hitting themselves.
I always can rely on at least one or two 'she's ugly' posts when an attractive woman thread comes up. I'll never understand those. EDIT: And also, I am ashamed. A thread with potential shots of a cute actress is on tap, and all you dorks can do is post rugby videos?
stop "just saying". seriously. she's pretty. there's no two ways about it. if she asked you out, you'd go.
Why is it the only thing Brits can say that is insulting is "bloody this" "wankers" "bollocks", etc If they are so damned clever why can't they mix it up a bit. I'm going to hope the new James Bond at least has the gall to call somebody a c##kjuggling thunderc##t.
yeah man...i'd like some of that **** your smoking too..far from ugly someone post the diet coke commerical for hotballa
The two really can't be compaired fairly. The incredible size and strength of NFL players is just not the same. As far as I know there are not and 6'5" 250lb rugby players slamming into each other. Much less ones that are even larger than that. She is still very hot though.
and her people play a sport in sweaters with tea breaks. who cares. i'd guess that the average rugby player is more hurt than the average nfl player after the game. obviously pads protect the person. but so what? thats just how the sport is. to each their own. these sort of comparisons are inane.
BOTH Rugby League and the NFL have big (And small) athletes. Bog difference is, the biggest Rugby League athletes have good mobility and endurance. The biggest NFL athletes would drop dead after 5 minutes with NO ONE even touching them. You can talk about padding all your like, the fact is Rugby League players put on huge hits without the padding, theyr suffer injuries that doctors compare to car crashes and they simply play longer....and tougher.
I really don't care about rugby or soccer! I really get bored watching these 2 sports. But I do think these euros like to trash us Americans whenever they have a chance!
Personally, I think the best thing the NFL and College Football could do would be remove 50% of the padding players wear. Defensive players would not be able to use their padding as a weapon any more, and they would actually tackle the ballcarrier instead of launching themselves at him like a missile. It would make defensive players think twice about how to play. It would enhance the game, IMHO, and it would force those with true football talent to stand out, as they should.
