Mmhmm. And then there is the "friend" zone. I see nothing wrong at all with dating people casually, and letting them you know you aren't necessarily looking for a commitment. I've seen way to many marriages fail because the two "needed" someone; ie. dependent. As far as I'm concerned, if it feels right being with that person, than pursue it. Also know just because you are wild about them doesn't mean that other person feels the same way. You'll know when it is right. I'm not personally a big fan of marriage, but I'd try it again with the right person. I certainly won't settle again. I really think most people do these days. And then again, I really wouldn't have any problem never getting married again. I'm completely fine by myself. (waiting for the smart-ass who replies "And women everywhere breathe a sigh of relief...")
But to not have anyone (live, in person and not anonymous computer nerds) to share the hilarity of your situations would be criminal, FFB!

Wang's thoughts were nice but the reality is you marry the hottest or richest non-psycho chick you figure might say yes to you and hope it works out through all of life's changes. We, Chinese, used to have as many as wife as one can afford, our culture and religion has no problem with that. You, westerner, spread your "one-wife" (is it a Christian thing?) ideology along with morden civilistation and brutal colonialism to rest of the world. Forget the "dating" thing."It" is either there or it's not. Just let it happen in the flow. Houston has so many hot ACCESSABLE women (from 25 -50) compared to both coasts.We really are spoiled........ And when they get past their 20's many get in touch with who they are and you have that killer combo of outer and inner beauty on display.
